Thanks to Ro Khanna for getting construction funding for the Pruneridge Complete Streets project in Santa Clara! The Santa Clara City Council approved the plan in August 2022.

Among other things, this project will close the remaining two-mile gap in the bike lane for the Pruneridge-Hedding-Berryessa corridor.

The Milyar coffee shop on the corner of Benton and Monroe streets has finally opened after 2 years of permits and remodeling. It opened last Friday May 9th and promises to be a great place for evening get togethers with friends. Initially the hours will be 10AM to 10 PM and possibly in a month they will open 6 am till midnight. I was very happy to meet, Omar, the assistant manager this afternoon. Right now they don't have decaf coffee so I had a delicious hibiscus tea with cloves and cardamon. Soon they will have decaf. This is their second cafe. The original is in Berkeley and is open 7 days a week from 7am to midnight.

The Town’s contractor, Granite Construction, will close the Los Gatos Creek Trail between Miles Avenue and Roberts Road West on January 6 - 10, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on January 13, 2025 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The closure is needed in order to complete the grading and paving work on the trail associated with the Los Gatos Creek Trail Connector to Highway 9 project. The detour route will be posted along Roberts Road, University Avenue, and Miles Avenue.

The overall project is scheduled to be complete in February and this is one of the last major items of work prior to the opening of the new trail connectors! Thank you for your patience while the work is completed.
