People-to-people engagement is one of the most meaningful foundations of humanity and diplomacy. It begins when we step forward to share what we love, our country, culture, language and traditions, and, just as importantly open ourselves to learning from others.

On August 22nd Georgian Heritage Foundation proudly represented Georgia for the first time at the 16th International Kids Fun Festival in Silicon Valley, an event bringing together thousands of children and families in celebration of cultural exchange.

Under this yearโ€™s beautiful theme, โ€œUniting through Language and Love,โ€ Georgia joined the International Village alongside communities representing Azerbaijan, France, India, Italy, Japan, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, the Philippines, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Turkey, the United States, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and Vietnam.

For GHF, the day was ultimately about people, because no platform or organization creates meaningful impact without the individuals willing to give their time, knowledge, talent, resources and heart.

โค๏ธOur deepest appreciation goes to Lina Mosashvili, whose leadership, enthusiasm and ability to bring people together were instrumental in making Georgiaโ€™s participation possible and our booth such a welcoming place for children and families.
โค๏ธ Mari Kvatia, who brought her generosity, hospitality, positive energy and commitment to sharing Georgia
โค๏ธKeti Topuria introduced children and families to Georgia through her engaging educational app.
โค๏ธMaia Khoperia generously gave her time and support as a volunteer.

โค๏ธ Sofia Grigolia embodied the festivalโ€™s theme in a particularly beautiful way. As a young member of the Georgian diaspora, she spent the entire day engaging with children and families, sharing her knowledge of Georgia, its culture and language, and, above all, her genuine love for her country. She showed us what a young cultural ambassador can be - curious, confident, generous with knowledge and proud to share where she comes from.

๐Ÿช•๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽธThrough music, GHF Cultural Ambassador Zaza Korinteli created another bridge. His introduction to Georgian musical instruments and performance of Georgian songs quickly turned into something shared - audience members joined in, music inspired spontaneous dance and a presentation became a moment of genuine human connection.

โค๏ธAnd our wonderful Lily Murvanidze, representing both Georgia and France, beautifully reflected the spirit of an International Village - showing how we can carry and celebrate more than one cultural heritage while bringing people closer together.

๐Ÿ™๐ŸปOur sincere gratitude goes to the festival organizers and volunteers, every member of the Georgian diaspora who joined us, and every child, parent and guest who visited our booth, listened, learned, asked questions, joined the music and discovered something new about Georgia.

People-to-people engagement is not an abstract idea. It happens when people show up, share what they know and love, listen to one another, and create connection where none existed before.

On August 22nd, we had the privilege of doing exactly that. To everyone who helped Georgia show up, be heard and be experienced ... Thank you. This day belonged to all of you ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ชโค๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ช

There are people in every diaspora community who preserve the culture, quietly with dignity and grace. Our dear friend Koba Lazarashvili is one of those people.

Anyone who has shared a Supra with Koba knows that he doesn't simply cook Georgian food; he recreates and shares the spirit of it, literally and figuratively speaking. Koba's generous hospitality and his genuine kindness make every guest feel like family.

Today, Koba is bringing the tradition of the Georgian Supra to homes and gatherings throughout the Bay Area with his new venture - Cooking with Koba. Whether you are introducing friends to Georgian cuisine for the first time or gathering your own family around the table, this is more than catering; this is a chance to experience a small but mighty piece of Georgia prepared with care, authenticity, and a big Georgian heart.

As a community, we are always proud to celebrate those who make a difference and share our culture in meaningful ways.

๐Ÿ’ซThe Georgian Song That Traveled to the Stars๐Ÿ’ซ

As part of the Georgian Heritage Foundation's Diaspora Diplomacy Program, we are proud to present Ensemble Chakrulo, led by Tamaz Bluashvili, in a special performance celebrating Georgia's rich musical heritage and the art of Georgian polyphony.

In 1977, when NASA launched the Voyager spacecraft beyond our Solar System, one of only 27 musical selections chosen for the Golden Record was "Chakrulo" a Georgian polyphonic song that continues its journey among the stars as part of humanity's message to the cosmos.

Join us as we welcome Youth Ensemble Chakrulo and experience a living tradition that has echoed through Georgia's mountains for centuries and now resonates far beyond our world.

In this video, the children's Ensemble "Chakrulo" performs "Mravalzhamier," a beloved traditional Georgian hymn that showcases the richness, harmony, and beauty of Georgian polyphonic singing.

We also look forward to welcoming Ensemble "Chakrulo" this Saturday, June 6th, at St. John the Baptist Serbian Orthodox Church in San Francisco, where they will perform traditional Georgian liturgical and folk music following the Divine Liturgy at 10:00am.
