Wins for Wells will be a nonprofit company/project whose exclusive purpose is to raise money in order to build wells in Choma, Zambia. The purpose of building these wells is to provide more people with access to clean water. Although there are numerous projects that address clean water issues, this project has an entrepreneurial fundraising strategy. Wins for Wells will raise money by encouraging
donors to donate a certain amount of money per win that the Westmont Baseball team accomplishes throughout the Spring 2015 season. Each donor will have the option of giving a one-time gift as well to contribute to this cause. Wins for Wells will also provide a text message donating service in order to make donating more convenient and allow donors to donate during the game as well if they feel inclined. Wins for Wells will be partnering with Poetice International who is a non-profit organization that works on the ground in South Africa. This is because Poetice International is a trusted contact and has team members on the ground in Choma, Zambia who have the knowledge and tools to construct wells. Partnering with Poetice allows for donations to be tax deductible as well, which is a large incentive for donors to consider contributing.
