🌿 Green Business Spotlight: MOXI, The Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation 🌿

We're proud to highlight MOXI, certified through the Santa Barbara County Green Business Program. They're the first LEED Gold certified museum in Santa Barbara County and a recently recertified Green Business Innovator, the highest tier in the program!

As a leader in informal STEAM learning, MOXI lives the creative problem-solving they teach. Sustainability is woven into their mission of inspiring the next generation to tackle global challenges like climate change.

A few things they're doing to walk the walk: ✨ Digitized Annual Reports and Membership cards to reduce printed materials ✨ Implemented power-saving measures across operations ✨ Promotes alternative transportation for their team ✨ Offers recycled materials in their Innovation Workshop ✨ Introduced new environmental themes in school programs ✨ Certified by 1% for the Planet as an environmental partner

🌿 Green Business Spotlight: California Nature Art Museum 🌿

We’re excited to celebrate the California Nature Art Museum, newly recertified as an Innovator-level Green Business!

This nonprofit truly walks the talk on environmental stewardship—from its inspiring exhibitions like Wild in California, featuring the mosaics and block prints of founder and artist Patti Jacquemain, to Lulu Hyggelig, their Thomas Dambo Troll #154, made entirely of recycled wood. With support from CEC, they installed solar panels that are nearly paid off, and they independently upgraded to efficient LED lighting, cutting energy use and lowering demand on the grid. Staff say the museum’s commitment to sustainability motivates them at work and even inspires greener habits at home.

We’re proud to recognize them for leading by example and showing that creativity and sustainability thrive together.
