We are excited to announce the Doublewide Kings Benefit Concert to support the More Mesa Preservation Coalition at the historic Lobero Theater on April 9th!

More Mesa stands at a critical crossroads. While 36 acres were recently protected through a conservation easement, the remaining 265 acres of privately-owned land - including the entire coastal bluff-top - remains vulnerable to development and is currently on the market for $65 million. The More Mesa Preservation Coalition is now gearing up for an ambitious campaign to acquire and permanently protect More Mesa as public open space for current and future generations.

For 25 years, the More Mesa Preservation Coalition (MMPC) has worked to keep More Mesa preserved forever. Through education, advocacy, and community partnerships, MMPC ensures this remarkable stretch of coastal bluff and grassland remains wild, open, and accessible to all.

Join us as we celebrate this milestone and the launch of Save More Mesa Blonde Ale, crafted by Rincon Brewery to support our ongoing efforts to protect this treasured landscape. Enjoy the first batch of Save More Mesa Blonde Ale, meet artist Kevin Gleason, whose painting of the bluffs inspired the beer can artwork, and take part in the auction launch for the original painting.

For nearly a century, More Mesa has been one of Santa Barbara’s most cherished open spaces—offering sweeping coastal views, wildlife-rich habitats, and miles of trails for walking, running, cycling, birdwatching, and horseback riding.

In October 2025, the More Mesa Preservation Coalition (MMPC) published Recreational Use and Values of More Mesa, a comprehensive report on how our community uses and values this extraordinary landscape.

The findings show just how deeply connected people are to More Mesa for health, recreation, and inspiration—and why protecting it for future generations matters more than ever.

For over 35 years, MMPC has worked to preserve the ecological, recreational, and scenic values of this incredible space. We've successfully turned away large development proposals, monitored smaller ones, and advocated for long-term conservation of More Mesa’s 265 acres of open space.
