Smokey heads back to Dallas for his third treatment with the experimental plant virus that we hope is helping stimulate his immune system to fight his cancer. We return home Saturday, and then on Wednesday we head to Pasadena to begin what we hope will become twice-weekly Hyperbaric Oxygen treatments to help his wound heal. The following week, he also needs to see his oncologist in Studio City before returning to Dallas again on 6/18.
Through all of this, Smokey has adapted to the constant travel amazingly well… maybe even better than his humans 😺
We are incredibly grateful for all the doctors, vet techs, and friends who are working so hard to help him, and for all the prayers, love, and well wishes coming from people around the world. That support means more than words can express.
Smokey’s journey continues 😺🐾❤️

Smokey has more good days. No word from his Texas doctors yet. Zorbium absorbed thru his skin administered every 4 days takes care of his pain. Unfortunately his antibiotics have to be given orally and that is not a fun time for him or his humans. The fact that he still runs on his wheel is incredible. Superhero Smokey 🐾❤️😺

Smokey and his humans are on our way to Texas. Smokey is still eating and active but his face wound is not healing and that has now become our biggest immediate hurdle. His doctors in Texas have been alerted to his condition and we are hopeful they will be able to help. Thank you for your continued prayers and good wishes ❤️🐾😺

Smokey saw his oncologist on Thursday and the good news is the cancer does not seem any worse. The bad news is his wounds, both inside his mouth and on his face have still not healed. The face wound is most likely from scratching so he has to wear a cone for the time being. His pain meds were increased as well. We spend a lot of time on the living room chair enjoying the backyard view. Short-term goals are to get his face healed and off antibiotics so he can feel better. He continues to eat, purr, wag his tail, and let us know he is not ready to quit this battle. His journey continues ❤️😺🐾
PS I know I use Gladiator music a lot but it fits his spirit 💪🏽
