We’re excited to recognize Devin Claudio as our Student of the Month for September!

Devin has had a great start to his freshman year at Laguna Blanca School. Starting at a new school can be a big adjustment, but Devin has settled in well and continues to do a great job academically. 📚

On the squash court, Devin has also shown great improvement. His hard work, effort, and commitment to getting better are showing in his game!

Great job, Devin! Keep working hard and having a great freshman year! 🎉😃

14 SBSOS students currently have official US Squash ratings. The first round of matches in the SoCal Squash Junior League in November will be the next opportunity for some players to improve their rating and for some to get one for the first time. Here’s the latest ranking list:

This past weekend, SBSOS students competed in the West Coast Classic at Stanford University alongside students from our sister programs: Steel City Squash, SquashDrive, CitySquash, Racquet Up Detroit, and Mission Success Houston. The event brought students from across the country together for several days of squash, competition, and connection. Our students gained valuable match experience and built friendships with peers from other programs. A huge thank you to SquashDrive for organizing this incredible event and bringing everyone together. Another successful weekend at Stanford is in the books, and we are already looking forward to next year!

Congratulations to Sammy Valencia on graduating from San Marcos High School!

Sammy is our only graduating senior this year, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything he has accomplished.

Sammy joined SBSOS in 8th grade, and over the years we have had the privilege of watching him grow into the responsible and kind young man he is today. Whether in the classroom, on the squash court, or within our community, Sammy has demonstrated dedication, perseverance, and a positive attitude.

This fall Sammy will be attending Santa Barbara City College, where he plans to pursue an associate degree in either Emergency Medical Services (EMT) or Automotive Technology. We are excited to see where his next chapter takes him and know he has a bright future ahead.

Congratulations, Sammy! We wish you all the success in the world as you begin this exciting new journey. 🎉👏
