We love getting out into the community! 🌟 Last week, our very own Vanessa Valerio Almaguer, Bilingual Client Services Navigator, was out tabling at the West Ventura County Business Alliance event at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, connecting with local entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and small business owners.

Events like these remind us why we do what we do...because when women and small businesses thrive, our whole community wins. 💙

Sunshine, coffee, community, and 200 handwritten notes. ☀️✍️ This weekend, some of our League members and supporters gathered for WEV's annual Post-Scripting Party, adding personal messages to our freshly printed 2025 Impact Reports.

It's a small tradition with a big impact. Every note is a reminder that women's economic empowerment isn't powered by programs alone, it's powered by people who believe in creating opportunity, financial security, and brighter futures.

Thank you to everyone who donated their time and handwriting to help our impact report reach hearts, not just mailboxes.

A big CONGRATS to all the 19 entrepreneurs pitching their amazing business plans here in Santa Barbara! We love seeing our community turn ideas into real, solid plans.

All of our participants took WEV's Smart Entrepreneurial Training course (SET) which we offer twice a year for people wanting to launch a business idea.

Big thanks to Jill Agonias for leading the program!

Mae West knew what she was talking about. Being one of the highest paid actresses of the 1930's , she understood firsthand the power of a woman's financial independence and decades later we're still working to make it a reality. WEV is here to help change that, one woman at a time.

What an incredible group of inspiring women! The inaugural CA Women's Economic Summit was an absolute success. The summit brought together nearly 300 female entrepreneurs, women's empowerment leaders and policy makers asking the Big Questions- 'How do we create an ecosystem in California that supports women-led business growth'? It's going to take time, dedication and funding, yet the conversation has started and change as we know begins on a local level.

Remember... Women are unstoppable 🤩

WEV's very own, Ashley Goldstein, co-chaired this major event- Thanks so much for representing Santa Barbara & Ventura counties! Of course, a shout-out to WEVies Irene Kelly & Emma Anderson for supporting our big mission at the Summit!

What a beautiful day in Santa Barbara- a sunny patio full of fun and dynamic entrepreneurs. A big thanks to Longoria Winery for hosting us, great vibes, location and people! (The Albariño was amazing).

Womens Economic Ventures has been connecting women and men for over 35 years & it was great to hear all about the new businesses coming up and our seasoned pros - from cycling centers to a wellness medspa to savory Ukrainian treats.

Thanks to Erin Samaniego for coordinating all the event details... and keep an eye out for our next 'STRONG WOMEN, STRONG COFFEE/Happy Hour' Event.
