The Professional Women’s Association was founded in January 1993. The purpose of this Association is to develop awareness among faculty, staff and other campus constituencies of the contributions of women to the mission of UCSB; to provide activities and support to other campus constituencies that contribute to the advancement of women; to serve as a networking and communications channel among women; and to provide a forum to influence decisions on campus and community issues.

Chapter 5: The Great Holiday Cookie Exchange

Books, cookies, brownies, bread, and pastries galore. Come share your favorite recipe or bring your favorite store-bought treat. This will be the last meet up of the year as the holiday season gets quite hectic! Hope to see you there! RSVP not required.

How it Works:
1. Bring your favorite holiday cookie/sweet/bread. Store-bought or homemade. Please bring list of ingredients if homemade)
2. Bring a lightly-loved book you’ve already read. A blanket or low chair to sit in might be comfortable too.
3. Say hi to someone and hear about the book they brought.

This Thursday, October 30th between 5-7pm join and support PWA in our Fall Kick-Off Boo Bash and Fundraiser at Brass Bear Uptown! Spread the word, anyone who purchases anything on Thursday between 5-8pm and lets their server know they are there for UCSB PWA, 10% will go to support PWA! UCSB PWA is hosting a three-part series on Healthcare Advocacy! Join us for part 2 of 3 in this series, Pleasure After Pain: Reclaiming Intimacy After Harmful Healthcare Experiences, presented by Certified Somatic S*x Coach and Author, Rachel Overvoll (she/her).
Our bodies remember — the pain, the procedures, the dismissals. These experiences can reshape how we feel iln our bodies, how we connect with partners, and how safe we feel to sit in pleasure. Join Rachel for a real and tender conversation about what it means to reclaim intimacy after the body has been through medical harm. In this lunch & learn, participants will understand how harmful healthcare experiences affect solo and partnered intimacy, learn somatic and relational tools to rebuild safety, trust, and pleasure after medical or health trauma, and walk away with a practical, shame-free way to reconnect with their body and nurture intimacy.
