In the work of saving dogs at risk, when it rains it pours. Ariel (rescued from SBCAS Santa Maria Shelter) was rushed to the ER hospital while we already had Poptart (rescued from SBCAS Santa Barbara Shelter) in hospital for her major surgery. Ariel's heart rate had suddenly gone over 100 beats a minute, which for a dog is life-threatening. She needed immediate hospital care of oxygen and special medications, chest rads, echocardiogram and more. After 24 hours of a precarious life-threatening episode and given specialized hospital care she recovered and was released to go home with medications. Her hospital care invoice is $4,726.87.
