And that’s a wrap on a successful summer Sockeye Salmon season! 😍 Members of the Santa Barbara commercial fishing fleet, and fleets from all over the country, head to Bristol Bay every summer to fish salmon and have been doing so for decades (swipe through to see hairball circa 80s). This year’s season showed an improvement from last year with better stocks and prices, allowing the guys to come home happily with what they deserve for all their hard work 🙌
Without a CA season again this year, it’s that much more important to be aware of where your salmon comes from and always choose to buy wild caught whenever you can, preferably sourced from Alaska, Washington, and Oregon. Don’t be afraid to ask your grocery store attendant or waiter/waitress where they source their salmon from!
Hinging your purchasing decisions on traceability is paramount especially when it comes to seafood. Shoutout to everyone who has bought and continues to buy wild salmon 🙌🙏🫶❤️ it’s better for your health and the planet! 🤗
