What a beautiful tribute to a truly remarkable woman. ❤️

Petra Lowen was so much more than a longtime employee of Access Central Coast. For 29 years, she was a fierce advocate, a compassionate colleague, and a friend to so many. She dedicated her life to helping people with disabilities live independently, with dignity and the opportunities they deserve.

Those of us who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside Petra know just how special she was. Her impact on our organization and the thousands of lives she touched will never be forgotten.

I am so grateful to the Santa Barbara Independent for sharing Petra's incredible story and honoring the legacy she leaves behind. She truly was one of a kind, and we miss her dearly. ❤️

We are beyond excited to see SB 1261 signed into law. Thank you Senator Laird for authoring and championing SB 1261! Your leadership help protect critical aging and disability resource connection services for people with disabilities and older adults across the central coast. We are so grateful for your partnership.

A few more bills are officially on the books! From keeping important aging and disability services running, to a common-sense fix for businesses with older gift cards — and yes, making September 25 Dolly Parton Day in California.

Different issues, but all good reasons to celebrate.

Thanks to grant funding from , Access Central Coast has been actively working to help residents prepare for natural disasters.

We are helping community members build personalized emergency plans and access vital preparedness kits, with a continued focus on supporting our Access and Functional Needs (AFN) and disability communities.

Preparedness saves lives, and we are grateful for partners like the California Fire Foundation who make this work possible.
