Exploring the feminine face of the divine…
The Guadalupe Art Program is a spiritual empowerment program whose mission is to address and heal violence against women and children. Using the theme of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the central spiritual image in Latino culture, participants are invited to explore and develop the sacredness of their own lives through art, music and dance. The program has been
offered in congregations, detention centers, to victims of human trafficking, and other victims of violence and abuse. Our artwork has been displayed at the United Nation’s “Year of the Girl Child” exhibit. In the last years the program has received the following awards: Path of Recovery Honoree; recipient and finalist of the Soroptimist International of San Diego County; Making a Difference for Women Honoree; Uplifting Citizens of San Diego Tribute & Spirit Award; the Interfaith Committee for Workers Justice; Who Will Speak If We Don’t Award; Macy’s Hispanic Heritage Month; the City of Los Angeles and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Juvenile Justice Week 2011.
