College Decision Day 🎓

From past cohorts to this year, every journey has looked a little different. Different schools, different paths, different timelines.

Whether it’s a four-year, community college, going straight into work, or still figuring things out, it all matters.

Today is just one step, and we’re proud of each of you for getting here and choosing what feels right.

From Cohort 2018 to Cohort 2024 ✨

Different paths. Different campuses. Different stories.
But one thing in common… every single student had a moment where they had to make a choice about what comes next.

As College Decision Day approaches, we want to remind you that there’s no “perfect” path, just the one that feels right for you. Wherever you choose, you’ll carry your experiences, your community, and everything you’ve worked for.

We’re proud of every step, every decision, and every student who continues to REACH new heights.

We’re proud to spotlight REACH alum Hailey Salas!

Now a Cal Poly student, Hailey is serving on the EarthFest Advisory Committee and leading the Kids Zone at SLO EarthFest, creating hands-on experiences that make sustainability fun and accessible for kids.

Love seeing our students lead and give back to their communities 🙌

Throwback to our backpacking expedition last summer!

Even after long days and tired legs, our students still found the energy to show off their dance moves and absolutely kill it. Turns out the trail isn’t the only place they shine ✨

And shoutout to John, one of our guides, who brought his own version of the floss… a little slower, a little more dramatic, but fully committed 😂

Moments like these remind us that joy, laughter, and community are just as much a part of the journey as the hike itself!

Huge congratulations to Cynthia Gutierrez from C2023 🎉

Currently a second-year student at UCSB, Cynthia has been accepted into the Harvard Medical School Summer Pre-Med Online Certificate Program and was awarded a scholarship to support her journey.

This opportunity reflects her hard work, commitment, and drive toward a future in medicine. We’re so proud of you, Cynthia, and keep REACHing New Heights!

Moments like this are what our Guatemala experience is all about 🇬🇹

Dancing, laughing, and connecting with homestay families who welcome our students as their own. During this celebration, families dressed our students in traditional Guatemalan attire, with women wearing huipiles (embroidered blouses) and cortes (skirts), and men in camisas y pantalones de manta (woven shirts and pants).

These relationships turn a trip into something much deeper, creating memories and connections that last far beyond the week.

Grateful for every family that makes this experience so special 💛

Throwback Thursday to our very first summer in Bolivia 🇧🇴

We were welcomed in El Alto by the Troneros at Teatro Trono with an unforgettable dance celebration alongside our students. Teatro Trono is a cultural organization that uses performing arts, including pantomime, circus, and masks, to promote social change, decolonize art, and empower marginalized youth.

Moments like this remind us why this experience matters so much. We can’t wait to return this summer for our fourth year in Bolivia and reconnect once again.

Camping Trip 101: Cohort 2026 (Weekend 2)

This weekend marked the first REACH experience for another group in Cohort 2026. From the opening circle to the final reflections, students stepped into community, challenge, and growth.

They learned new skills like firemaking, explored the outdoors together, and cooled off during creek time. Through games, shared meals, and time on the trail, connections started to form naturally.

Solo time created space to pause, reflect, and take in the experience, while moments of laughter and smiling faces showed just how quickly this group came together.

On Sunday, students grounded themselves with movement and mindfulness through a morning hike, stretching, and meditation. The weekend wrapped up with teamwork as students packed up camp and took responsibility for cleaning and organizing gear.

Same foundation. New stories. More students beginning their REACH journey.

Swipe to see:
- Fire making in action
- Creek time including face masks
- Sleep set up under the stars
- Solo moments for reflection
- Smiles all around

Cohort 2026 embarked on their first official REACH adventure: Introduction to REACH Camping!

From the moment students arrived, this first weekend was all about stepping into something new. Together, we built community from the ground up, starting with breakfast and an opening circle, then diving into games, lessons, and our first hike as a REACH community.

Students pushed themselves, tried new things, and slowed down during sit spots and solos, taking time to reflect and connect with nature and themselves. We shared meals, practiced gratitude, and ended the day under the stars, bundled up for a cozy night in sleeping bags (yes, including one very toasty “worm” 🐛).

Sunday brought movement and mindfulness with a morning hike, stretching, and meditation, followed by more laughter, games, and teamwork as we packed up camp. Before heading home, students took ownership of their experience by cleaning and organizing gear together.

This weekend wasn’t just about camping. It was about building confidence, relationships, and a sense of belonging.

Thank you, , for letting us use your wonderful space!

Stay tuned for weekend 2!

Swipe to see:
- Peak coziness in a sleeping bag
- A proud burrito moment (fuel for the adventure)
- A refreshing creek soak
- Happy students enjoying the outdoors
