The future of State Street is being decided! LINK IN BIO.
City Council reviews the Master Plan draft TOMORROW Tuesday, April 28 at 2 PM
City Hall, 735 Anacapa St.

Tell City Council to move forward with a car-free master plan. Attend the meeting, or send a comment referencing Item 11 to
[email protected]

What We Love About the Master Plan
* World-class, 30-foot sidewalks offer room to walk, sit, and play
* More downtown housing: 1000+ new homes for our neighbors
* Dedicated bike paths and the electric shuttle loop offer safe, clean travel

A Case to Keep State Street Car-Free
The Master Plan draft allows cars from the hours of 10PM–10AM, even though:
* Collisions dropped 66% since 2020
* 79% of locals surveyed want to keep State Street car-free
* Over 1 million bike-share miles have been ridden on lower State since 2020

SBMTD is proposing major service reductions!
TAKE THE SURVEY: sbmtd.gov/servicechanges
SHOW UP TO A MEETING

SBMTD Proposed Major Service Reductions:
• Lines 1 & 2: Weekday frequency cut from 15 to 20 minutes.
• Lines 3, 4, 5, & 17: Saturday schedules reduced to match Sunday (fewer total trips).

Night Reductions (Last Trips):
• Line 7 Outbound: 9:45 p.m. → 7:10 p.m.
• Line 11 Inbound: 11:30 p.m. → 10:30 p.m.
• Line 23 Outbound: 11:00 p.m. → 9:40 p.m.
• Line 25 Inbound: 11:18 p.m. → 9:58 p.m.

MTD got hit hard by the pandemic and by the loss of the federal small transit intensive cities grant. Local government needs to step in to help prevent disastrous service cuts like this. A 25% frequency reduction on the main trunk line 1/2 which serve Eastside and Westside is a major disincentive for people to ride transit. Cuts like these often lead to ‘transit death spirals’ which result in even more cuts.

A new morning Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trip is set to launch in early May! It will arrive in Santa Barbara at 7:56 a.m, which means commuters from Ventura should be able to use it. SB residents can also now take it to SLO for daytrips!

This means 6 daily round trips to Goleta, and 3 daily round trips to SLO. Thank you SBCAG for making this happen!

This marks a return to pre-pandemic service for Santa Barbara!

• Neighborhood Hubs spread across the County that promote livability and a “15 minute city”
• A Funding Plan that acknowledges the urgency to expand affordability while ensuring equity, livability and sustainable economic growth.
• An engaged, informed community that advocates for the above. (That’s where YOU come in.)
