Theatre Eclectic

Theatre Eclectic Underrepresented artists for underserved audiences.

Theatre Eclectic is an outgrowth of the Sheltered Theatre program started by Philip Levien in his work as a teacher at San Marcos High School, in which classic plays were performed by students learning English, special ed students, students at risk ,and student mentors. Theatre Eclectic takes this program to the community level, now including senior citizens and other under represented artists as

well. In bringing together diverse groups of artists to perform for under served audiences, the hope is to also heal the rifts in our fractured society.

Wow! Just two more classes of the summer session of Acting for Older Adults (SBCCSEL) - Theatre Eclectic is the production arm of this acting workshop. What a great group coming this summer - new and returning! So, besides improvs, theater games, etc., we're doing readings of one act plays that we may use in Theatre Eclectic's fall show. It's so exciting to have new folks reading - new voices, new perspectives! Theatre Eclectic, our theatre company/community, is growing! Thanks for joining us, friends!
