PUBLIC TOWN HALL - Wednesday, June 10 - Toad & Co in Santa Barbara
Get the facts and learn what you can do.

If the Roadless Area Conservation Rule is repealed, 45 million acres of pristine National Forests across the country would be opened up for the first time in over 20 years to road building for the logging, mining, oil/gas extractive industries, privatization, & housing.

This includes 600,000 of our own Los Padres National Forest! It will endanger wildlife, wildlife habitat, sensitive ecosystems, vital watersheds, Sacred Tribal Grounds, and our recreational areas. Places where we hike, backpack, camp, rock climb, mountain bike, fish, hunt, or just go for solace are under threat.

More Roads=More People. More People=More Fires. It has already been scientifically proven that 99% of ALL wildfires start just ½ mile from a road! We already have an adequate number of roads in our National Forests for fire mitigation. This plan is all for corporate greed! Do Not Let This Happen. Fight Back!

The Roadless Area Conservation Rule protects roughly 58 million acres of public forest lands from road construction, timber harvesting, and resource extraction.

Trump administration moved to rescind this vital conservation policy over the past few months, there were no such public hearings scheduled. So, we organized our own. This spring, Sierra Club and partners held roughly 50 grassroots “DIY town hall” events in at least 15 states.

We need to do our part to generate 1 million public comments in the draft environmental impact statement comment period. Send in your comment today!
