Two years ago, we opened our doors with a mission to guide, support, and bring hope. We recently celebrated the FARO Center’s 2-Year Anniversary on June 26!

In Spanish, faro means lighthouse or beacon—a symbol that captures what this center means to the people we serve. To honor this, we held a beautiful candlelight ceremony, symbolizing the connection and hope the FARO Center brings to so many lives.

The evening was also shaped by the powerful words shared by our Executive Director, our Board Co-Chairs, and one of our incredible Lived Experience Ambassadors. Their speeches reminded us all of the profound, life-changing impact this Center has on our clients every single day.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey over the last two years. We wouldn’t be able to do this work without your unwavering support!

Two years ago, the FARO Center opened its doors with a mission to support and guide our community to navigate housing in a truly safe environment. Today, we are incredibly proud to celebrate our 2nd Year Anniversary! 🎉

This milestone belongs to all of us—our dedicated staff, our amazing supporters, and the incredible network of non-profit service providers who partner with us every single day to make a real difference. We truly couldn't do this work without you.

There have always been those at risk of losing their housing in our midst… but the risks and stakes have never been higher than 2026. Shifts in federal policy coupled with rising housing costs have raised the threat of homelessness for hundreds of households throughout our community.

Join SB ACT and local partners on Monday, June 8 at 12pm at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Center (21 E Constance Ave, SB) for an important community meeting to understand these changes and learn the steps YOU can take to help your friends, neighbors, employees, faith community members, and more to stay housed.

The FARO Center is celebrating two years of providing hope and stability to our community! Please join us for our 2nd Year Anniversary Celebration on June 25th from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the FARO Center. Since opening, we have welcomed over 1,700 individuals and helped more than 200 people transition into permanent housing. This milestone is marked by inspiring stories like Greg’s, a Lived Experience Ambassador who found a new path through our services and now helps others do the same. Through vital partnerships with the Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics and Apples to Zucchinis, we continue to provide essential healthcare and community-building programs directly to our clients.

You can also support our mission by donating professional attire or durable daily wear to help our neighbors prepare for their next steps; please email [email protected] to coordinate. Together, we are creating real moments of connection and change.

What does it take to get off the streets? Why do some people remain on the streets as long as they do? What can be done if someone doesn’t view themself as “homeless?” Join us to learn about the journey from homelessness to housing and how individuals can be supported through the process.
