After 25 years of homelessness in Santa Barbara County, Paula has finally received the keys to a place she can call home. 🏡

Today, Paula and Sunny are beginning a new chapter together.

A special thank you to her House Navigator, Christian Burnias, and to everyone on the team who helped make this possible.

Moments like this remind us why our work matters. Paula’s journey is a powerful example that housing changes lives and that hope is never out of reach. ❤️

Educational Luncheon short recap

The first educational luncheon of 2026 was a success!

New Beginnings held the first event in its countywide Educational Luncheon Series on April 22 in Santa Barbara and focused on the Safe Parking Program. Over 40 guests learned how New Beginnings serves our community through the Safe Parking Program, housing assistance, supportive services for veterans, and affordable mental health counseling. Presentations and moving personal stories from staff, board members, volunteers, and clients were followed by a Q&A.
