With appreciation for our Tribal Trust Foundation donors who have given to support our partnership with the Shipibo-Konibo Indigenous community in Ucayali, Peru, we share this report from Director of Programs, Gilmber Yuimachi Castro, on recent developments in their Two Eyed Education Center for Intercultural Learning:
“We would like to express our special thanks to Tribal Trust Foundation and Ms. Barbara Savage for their valuable support, guidance, and trust throughout this process, which has been fundamental in making this important initiative for the benefit of Indigenous communities possible.
We are pleased to inform you that, following your instructions, the purchases of the six computers, tables, bicycles, and books have already been completed.
We would like to once again convey our deep appreciation for your support and trust. The joy of the children from the intercultural communities of Bena Jema, Victoria Gracias, and Nueva Era is truly meaningful, as these materials will directly contribute to improving their educational opportunities and overall development.
First, our computer lab. Here, our children are closing the digital gap, discovering tools and knowledge that once seemed out of reach.
Second, the bicycles. They are a daily motivation that brings joy and independence to our students.
And finally, the additional books that now fill our shelves. Each book represents a new learning opportunity and a key tool for their socio-emotional development.
Thank you for believing in education and for helping us build a future full of opportunities.
We reiterate our sincere gratitude for your valuable support and hope to welcome you soon in Peru so you can see firsthand the impact of this important contribution.”
