Vaquero Honorary Captain Program The Vaquero Honorary Captain (VHC) Program is a community outreach effort supported by Santa Barbara

This program is set-up to honor and raise awareness for an individual/group from the greater Santa Barbara community at every SBCC home football contest throughout the 2011 season (5 games) . . . and to establish the presence that SBCC Athletics is a vehicle for positive influence and inspiration within our community.

SBCC is proud to announce, that our very own Vaquero Joshua Vaith is being recognized as our Honorary Vaquero Captain for this weekends game. Along with him we will honor all the Veterans and those fighting for our country! SBCC thanks the men and women who have served this country and continue to serve it for our freedom!

Last night we honored Gwendolyn and her parents as our Honorary Vaquero Captain program with the Gwendolyn Strong Foundation. She will be recognized on Saturday at our home opener Football Game at 1pm, here at SBCC.

To all those who participated in SBCC Football's Vaquero Honorary Captain Program in 2011 & 2012, thank you for the inspiration, strength and courage you were able to share with us during our time together. Hopefully the new year brings continued opportunity to work toward gaining exposure and awareness for important issues as well as a chance to celebrate some of life's great triumphs as they relate to growing and learning about the world around us.
