We honor the resilience of older adults in our community and recognize many face challenges related to financial exploitation, housing instability, and safety.

At the Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara County, we support seniors through these moments by providing legal help with financial scams, housing concerns, and protection from abuse and exploitation. Because no one should have to navigate aging alone.

What to do if you or someone you know is targeted by a scam:
• Pause before taking action or sending money
• Do not share personal or financial information
• Contact a trusted family member, bank, or legal services provider
• Report suspicious activity and seek help early

Denim Day 💙

Today our team is wearing denim to show support and help raise awareness for survivors of sexual violence. Denim Day began as a response to a court case that blamed a survivor’s clothing - today, it’s a global movement to stand against victim-blaming and support survivors.

We stand together in support and in amplifying the voices of those impacted.

In that spirit, the City of Santa Maria, in partnership with LAFSBC, is hosting a Tenant’s Rights Workshop to help you better understand your rights and protections. Topics include tenant & landlord rights, housing violations, protected classes, housing discrimination, and more.

As Managing Attorney of our Santa Maria office, Victoria leads efforts to support tenants facing eviction through the Shriver Housing Project. Her work helps low-income residents navigate complex legal processes, protect their housing stability, and move from fear and uncertainty toward clarity and stability.

Victoria believes Legal Aid’s work is about building a bridge by helping people understand their rights and know they don’t have to face housing challenges alone.

When she’s not advocating for tenants, Victoria enjoys camping, fishing, reading, and listening to classical music. Fun fact: she once performed lead roles in Shakespeare plays!
