We are proud to officially announce the distinguished Jury Panel for the 5th Annual Ceylon International Film Festival (CEYIFF) 2026.

It is a tremendous honor to welcome an exceptional panel of internationally acclaimed film professionals whose talent, experience, and dedication to the art of cinema continue to inspire filmmakers around the world.

🎬 Marc Gareton – President of the Jury, an acclaimed filmmaker and one of the original inspirations behind the vision of CEYIFF. His guidance, mentorship, and unwavering support have been instrumental in the festival’s journey since its inception.

🎬 Douglas Montgomery – Returning Jury Member, proudly serving CEYIFF since our inaugural festival in 2022, bringing his continued dedication and expertise to the festival.

🎬 Arthur W. Forney – Distinguished Jury Member, Academy Award® and Emmy Award® winner, whose outstanding achievements have made a lasting impact on the motion picture industry.

The 5th Annual Ceylon International Film Festival would like to introduce our prestigious award winning filmmaker Arthur W. Forney as a Jury Member for our upcoming event.

Arthur W. Forney is an Emmy Award-winning producer, director, editor, and one of the television industry’s most accomplished creative executives. With a distinguished career spanning more than four decades, he has played a pivotal role in producing and overseeing some of the most successful and longest-running dramatic television series in history.

Arthur began his career in post-production at Warner Bros. before joining Universal Television as an editor on the acclaimed series Magnum, P.I. In 1987, he joined legendary producer Dick Wolf’s production company, where he became an integral force behind the globally acclaimed Law & Order franchise.

Throughout his remarkable career, Arthur has served as Executive Producer and head of post-production on award-winning productions including Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., Chicago Med, FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, and FBI: International. As a director, he has also directed episodes of Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, JAG, Profiler, and New York Undercover.

His outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry have earned him nine Primetime Emmy Award nominations and one Primetime Emmy Award, recognizing his excellence in television production and storytelling. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with some of Hollywood’s most celebrated filmmakers, producers, writers, and actors, many of whom are Academy Award and Emmy Award recipients. His work has consistently reflected the highest standards of cinematic and television excellence.

Arthur is an esteemed member of the Directors Guild of America (DGA), the American Cinema Editors (ACE), and the Television Academy, where his leadership and creative vision continue to inspire the industry.

The Ceylon International Film Festival Foundation (CEYIFF) is honored to welcome Arthur W. Forney as a member of the 2026 International Jury. His exceptional expertise, artistic integrity, and decades of experience in storytelling make him an invaluable addition to the jury as CEYIFF celebrates outstanding filmmakers from around the world.

The 5th Annual Ceylon International Film Festival would like to Introduce Sam Kadi as our Judge for this year’s festival.

Sam Kadi is an award-winning Syrian-born American filmmaker, writer, producer, educator, and TEDx speaker based in Santa Barbara, California. He directed, wrote, and produced the critically acclaimed feature drama The Citizen, named one of Examiner.com’s “Best 10 Films of 2013.”

His internationally acclaimed documentary Little Gandhi was selected as Syria’s official submission to the 90th Academy Awards (2018) for Best Foreign Language Film, bringing worldwide attention to its powerful story of courage, freedom, and human rights. He also produced the Academy Award-shortlisted animated feature Lamya’s Poem, which premiered at the prestigious Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

Kadi’s work has earned international recognition for its commitment to human rights and social justice through cinema. He has been honored by Cinema for Peace and invited to speak at the International Criminal Court in The Hague. He is the recipient of the Humanitarian Service Award from Life for Relief and Development and was selected as a Spotlight Juror by the USC Shoah Foundation, founded by Steven Spielberg.

A professor at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts, Kadi is the founder of Sam K Production, a member of ASIFA-Hollywood and the Directors Guild of America (DGA), where he serves on the Asian American Diversity Committee. He has served as a juror for numerous international film festivals, including the European Independent Film Festival in Paris and the Asian World Film Festival in Los Angeles, bringing extensive international experience and a global perspective to the evaluation of cinematic excellence.
