Our next trip will be THIS WEEKEND on Saturday at 8am to San Antonio Creek Park. San Antonio Creek Park is a public park in Goleta which is good in spring for breeding riparian birds (like Yellow Warbler, Pacific-slope Flycatcher, and Spotted Towhee) and also migrant songbirds (potentially including Western Tanager, other Warblers, etc.). The trail is dirt and in some places is a bit rocky, but we will be moving very slowly. RSVP and details at link in bio!

Please join us for our next bird walk! North Campus Open Space is a wetland and grassland complex recently restored from an old golf course by UCSB’s Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration. Depending on water levels, we should see ducks and shorebirds around the slough, plus hawks, sparrows, meadowlarks,
and other grassland species. The meeting spot has free parking and a bike rack. Please RSVP at the link in bio!

Cruzitas Ranch field trip!

Cruzitas Ranch is a private ranch that has tons of great bird species which are very rare coastally, including Yellow-billed Magpie, Phainopepla, Golden Eagle, Prairie Falcon, and others. It's about an hour drive away, so this trip will be a bit longer than usual: from 7am - 1pm, including the drive. This is a really special opportunity to visit a wonderful birding spot which is usually not available to the public! Expect to encounter lots of mud and wear warm clothing and ideally gloves. Please RSVP using the form at the link in our bio!

As always, we have gear for students to borrow for free. Reach out for more information or to RSVP!
