🌾 Powering Agriculture with the Sun! ☀️

Agriculture contributes over 30% of Ghana’s GDP and employs more than 35% of the workforce. This summer, Energierich partnered with CSIR–Savanna Agricultural Research Institute to explore how solar energy can boost agricultural productivity in Ghana.

Together, we’re working towards developing locally made, solar-powered farming equipment — empowering farmers to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and cultivate a more sustainable future. 💪🇬🇭

This summer, ÉnergieRich is excited to welcome three students from Stanford University who have traveled to Ghana to create impact in communities across the Northern region. 🇬🇭✨

Beyond their community work, the students also explored some of Ghana’s most iconic landmarks—including Independence Square, the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Jamestown Lighthouse, Stanford Seed, Ashesi University, Academic City, and the Nkyinkyim Museum. 🌍📍

Meet Our Coaches

This year, ÉnergieRich is proud to welcome a dynamic team of students from Ashesi University and Stanford University.
They include:
Calvin Mac Phillips (Ashesi University)
Micheline-Ann Doh (Ashesi University)
Diana Runyararo Murungu (Ashesi University)
Alhassan Mohammed (Ashesi University)
Liane O. (Stanford University)
Katelyn Kramer (Stanford University)
Sydney Bohles (Stanford University)

Together, they will not only inspire and mentor high school students in Tamale, Ghana—building skills in Data Analytics, Electronics and Programming—but also take on hands-on innovation projects.

The team will be designing, developing, and testing a solar-powered farm sprayer to support sustainable agriculture, and a solar-powered power hub to provide clean electricity to areas without access to the grid.

We are excited to see how their expertise, creativity, and commitment to impact will drive change in both classrooms and communities.
