Are you ready for laughter, creativity, and empowerment?

MyGlobalClassroom is thrilled to announce our exciting new afterschool program tailored for at-risk youth: "I'll Be Here All Week: Kids Comedy Program!”

Our program brings together professional stand-up comedians, both men and women, to mentor and inspire young boys and girls. Through the magic of comedy, we aim to help them transform life's challenges into comedic gold. Laughter is a powerful tool that can be a source of resilience and strength.

We kick off in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, but our vision extends far beyond. "I'll Be Here All Week" is set to spread its wings, reaching other cities and towns across the U.S. Our mission is to create a nationwide network of laughter, support, and positive transformation.

• Professional Comedian Mentors: Experienced stand-up comedians will guide and mentor the young participants, sharing their expertise and encouraging self-expression.

• Transform Challenges into Comedy: Through interactive workshops, participants will learn to turn their life experiences into hilarious routines, fostering resilience and creativity.

• Building Confidence: Comedy is not just about laughs; it's a confidence-building journey. Our program aims to boost self-esteem and empower youth to face life's hurdles with a smile.

Perhaps the most vital aspect of this exciting new program is our hosting/interviewing component which teaches participants the skills needed to ask pertinent, probing and informed questions of guests, and to listen respectfully to their answers. Since this is rarely seen on television today, we’ve patterned our interviewing module after the late “Tonight Show” host, Johnny Carson, who despite being a top-notch comedian and entertainer, perfected the art of the interview simply by listening to his guests. Carson made every guest seem interesting because he was truly interested in what they had to say.

Mr. Carson didn’t limit his guests to celebrities; he was particularly adept at interviewing children and the elderly. The skills our students will take away from this program will serve them far beyond ever hosting a talk show. It will prepare them to respectfully and empathetically interact with anybody they meet. At least that’s our vision, and what better way to honor Johnny Carson than to pass the baton of politeness and cordiality to future generations.

Some of the folks who have confirmed their involvement in this worthwhile program (pending availability) are Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David, Ellen DeGeneres, Larry Miller, Jimmy Kimmel, Brad Upton, Sebastian Maniscalco, Nikki Glaser, Carol Leifer, Billy Crystal, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Paul Rodriguez, and Chris Rock, as well as writers for “The Tonight Show” and “The Late Show Starring Jimmy Kimmel.”

Venues will include the Comedy Store, Improv, and Laugh Factory, all in Los Angeles, and executives at Comedy Central have agreed to review this exciting program for possible inclusion in a kids’ comedy special.

Stay tuned for program launch dates, venue details, and registration information. Follow us on social media for the latest updates and behind-the-scenes sneak peeks!

"I'll Be Here All Week" is more than a program; it's a movement. Join us in creating a world where laughter is a tool for positive change.

Get ready to laugh, learn, and thrive!

We are excited to kick off 2024 by helping chronically ill children stay current with their schoolwork during recuperation in the hospital or at home, through our Up to Speed Program, where a network of volunteer teachers step in to work with these young students until they are all caught up!

MyGlobalClassroom’s "Up to Speed" Program is dedicated to ensuring that licensed K-12 teachers (tutors) have the opportunity to visit the homes of chronically ill children. The aim is simple but profound: we want to ensure that these children do not fall behind in their education as a result of th...

The Susan M. Pirro Volunteer Angels Program came about when we received a letter from 13-year-old Kathy P., an eighth-grade student at Secaucus Middle School in Secaucus, New Jersey.

In 2018, Kathy read an article about a woman named Susan Pirro who had recently passed away at an early age. Kathy was impressed that Susan, as a single mom who raised three daughters on her own, had a full-time job and still found the time to serve her community in various volunteer capacities.

Kathy went on to list some of Susan’s volunteer accomplishments –- serving on three PTAs, coaching girls’ basketball, serving on the school board, working with the March of Dimes and the Office of Emergency Services, virtually saving the town’s animal shelter and finding homes for hundreds of dogs and cats, and serving two terms as a city councilmember.

Ms. Pirro was a beloved citizen in her town and the quintessential example of how one person can make a world of difference –- she was the poster child, so to speak, for community service.

We can’t say for certain why Susan Pirro became a volunteer initially, but it likely resulted from her wanting to be involved in her daughters’ lives and help out at their school. How this escalated from a PTA member at Clarendon Elementary School to a lifetime of helping others remains a mystery. Perhaps, according to Kathy, she got hooked!

Kathy then suggested that MyGlobalClassroom launch an interactive system in which community members can connect with organizations that need volunteers. People can apply online to work with a particular organization or event, select their days and hours, and post information on a bulletin board about their experience. Kathy called it “Volunteer Angels.”

We’ve taken Kathy’s letter to heart and hired a group of software engineers at Palo Alto Networks to design an online portal for volunteers that can be used in any community. Beginning in the Spring of 2024, The Susan M. Pirro Volunteer Angels Program will launch in Secaucus, New Jersey, and will spread into other cities and towns across the U.S. shortly thereafter. To save time (and money) we’ve partnered with the Volunteer Center based in Pleasanton, California, whose database of willing volunteers and non-profit organizations is world-renowned.

Through her decades-long example, Susan Pirro demonstrated to her children and the entire Secaucus community that one citizen, regardless of circumstance, gain value by thinking of others as much as themselves. Sue believed that volunteers are the only human beings who reflect this nation’s compassion, unselfish caring, patience, and just plain love for each other. She certainly proved Martin Luther King’s admonition that, “Volunteers don’t get paid because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless.”
