Santa Barbara Equine Evacuation and Assistance Team, Inc. The Santa Barbara Equine Assistance and Evacuation Team, inc. is a volunteer group whose members are registered by the Office of Emergency Services.

We conduct periodic training sessions on large animal rescue, extrication, and airlift, as well as the transporting and temporary sheltering of animals during emergencies.

Santa Barbara Equine Evac is seeking trailer storage space for approximately 1 month beginning this weekend. We are required to move our 26 foot office trailer from its normal storage site at Earl Warren Showgrounds during the Santa Barbara County Fair & Expo. Please call us at 805-892-4484 if you are able to provide temporary space.

🚨 Real-Life Rescue with Loops Training! 🚨

Less than two weeks after our Loops training event with Dr. John Madigan, one of the attendees put her new skills—and her Loops kit—to the test. A calf had become stuck in deep mud on her property, and thanks to the training and equipment she received at the event, she was able to safely rescue it!

We’re incredibly grateful to Dr. Madigan for sharing his expertise, and thrilled that this calf’s owner had the tools and knowledge to act quickly. 💪🐄❤️

Great Turnout for Downed Horse Rescue & Loops Training with Dr. John Madigan!

We had an incredible day on Saturday with a fantastic turnout for our Downed Horse Rescue and Loops Training event led by the renowned Dr. John Madigan.

Participants gained hands-on experience and invaluable knowledge on how to safely and effectively respond to large animal emergencies. Huge thanks to Dr. Madigan for sharing his expertise, and to everyone who attended and made the day a success!

These skills save lives—not just for horses, but for the people helping them too.

What an amazing day!
SB Equine Evac was proud to participate in Tails of Hope last Sunday. The community came together in an incredible way, raising nearly $200,000 to support Santa Barbara County Animal Services (SBCAS) through the Santa Barbara County Animal Care Foundation.

For a first-time event, the turnout and generosity far exceeded expectations — a true testament to how much our community cares about animals.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s event! Thank you to everyone who showed up, donated, volunteered, or spread the word. Together, we’re making a real difference.
