Jewish Veterans—come meet Post 760 (Orange County, CA) of the Jewish War Veterans of the USA at the Orange County JCC’s Yom Haatzmaut celebration from 12-4 pm.

The post-October 7th world has shown us that not since the 1930’s has the need been so great a need for a “A Jewish Voice for Veterans; A Veteran's Voice for Jews.”

The Wall That Heals, the official 3/4 traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Mall remains open 24 hours a day through mid Sunday at Pierce College Woodland Hills.

Yesterday ceremony was highlighted by not only the introductory comments by Jewish War Veterans Post 603 commander Earl Roth, but also by Jewish War Veterans Post 138 commander Marc Thurston’s (pictured) very personal speech about his experiences in combat in Vietnam and the after affects of that combat.

Veterans, their families, and everyone is invited to visit the memorial to honor Vietnam veterans.

Thanks to a benefactor to the San Fernando Valley post of the Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America, The Wall That Heals—the official 3/4 size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund—is now set up at Pierce College. It will be open 24 hours a day until the closing ceremony early on Sunday afternoon.

Whether you are more comfortable in the day, or when it is peaceful in the middle of the night, there will be volunteers here. Veterans, families, and the community are invited to come to Pierce College to see this part of history and pay your respects.

Jewish War Veterans of the USA is sponsoring The Wall That Heals at Pierce College, Woodland Hills, CA from 19-22 March 2026.

The wall will be up 24/7 so anyone can come anytime to pay their respects.

To make this happen, we need 300 volunteers to support 4-hour missions.

Here are the Volunteer Descriptions (Orientation takes place Wednesday, March 18, around early evening)
*Assist Visitors at The Wall-Greet and assist visitors with finding names, viewing photos, name rubbing, Listen and provide support when needed.
*Mobile Education Center-Talk about artifacts, In Memory Honorees, and Hometown Heroes.
*Visitor Tent-Seated Position-In finding names on website or name directory. Monitor trifold inventory. Answer visitor questions to the best of ability.
*Direct Visitor (Floater)-Greet and assist visitors with information. Direct to The Wall, Trailer, *Visitor Tent-Assist if they need help with mobility. Fill in other positions if needed.
*Parking and Visitor Assistance:-Direct parking, Visitor assistance with transportation, to and from The Wall That Heals (Golf Cart, Wheel Chair (etc.)

To help with set-up on Wednesday 18 March or tear down on Sunday 22 March, please DM our post here on Facebook and we will connect you to the point of contact.

Jewish veterans in Orange County—

This coming Sunday we start the next phase of our continuing evolution as a post with our first meeting at the Merage Orange County Jewish Community Center in Irvine at 11 am.

We will have quarterly meetings at the Orange County JCC through the end of the Jewish year. Next year, we will expand our footprint by also including quarterly meetings at the Long Beach JCC—thus integrating more into the two communities from which we draw members.

Join our work to support veterans, combat anti-Semitism, and to raise awareness of Jewish American military service.

We hope to see you in person on Sunday.
