“Bear one another’s burdens, and so you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2

We were never meant to carry every burden alone. God gives us brothers and sisters in Christ to encourage us, pray with us and stand beside us when life gets hard.

Sometimes fraternity is as simple as noticing when someone is struggling and refusing to let him struggle alone.

Who might need you to show up for them today?

Today, October 7, the Church celebrates Our Lady of the Rosary. The feast has an important historical connection with the Battle of Lepanto in 1571. Pope Saint Pius V had encouraged Christians to pray the Rosary during a time of grave danger. Following the Christian naval victory at Lepanto on October 7, he established a feast of thanksgiving associated with Our Lady of Victory, which later developed into the celebration known as Our Lady of the Rosary.

“Cultivating is a prayer made with the hands” - Benedictine Abbess Maria Sofia Cichetti

The Garden of Hope has flourished over the last five years. Each harvest yields over 300 pounds of fresh produce, which is included in the bags of food distributed to our clients in Orange County. This year the garden is producing even more! We are excited to report that this summer alone, we harvested over 428 pounds of fresh food. Our crops included corn, tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, herbs, and more!

“The earth is not a possession, but a gift, and those who cultivate it respectfully participate in God’s creative work.” - Pope Leo XIV.

Gena Arzaga and Tad Smith work hard to keep our Garden of Hope and Healing thrive but there’s always extra work that needs to be done. Please consider volunteering at the Garden of Hope and Healing.
