The Spaghetti Western

HI ho Clint Eastwood and Parmesan!

Riding a fiery rig with the speed of light, a cloud of dust, and a hearty “Hi Ho Parmesan” the Nomads RV and Camping group here at the lodge are proud to present on March 23 at 6 pm the Spaghetti Western! Call 714-547-7794 to get your tickets and/or reserve a table for you and your compadres. All proceeds will go to lodge charities.

With our faithful companions the daring and resourceful riders of California highways, we lead the fight for law and order in the early west. Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear. The Spaghetti Western is born.

For $40 per ticket a fabulous buffet with pasta and your choice of sauces and a meat, sides, garlic bread and tiramisu will be available for your dining pleasure, followed by music from the band Pickleback Shine. Clint Eastwood would be proud. You can dance the night away, until you get arrested, thrown in jail, and pay a fine. Then you can have a drink in a lighted glass, choose a decorated cowboy hat to wear, buy 50/50 tickets, and in general have a boot-stomping good time.

We’re off and camping! Bonelli Bluffs RV Resort was our November outing and a wonderful time was had by all. Our RV sites had a perfect view of the airport take-offs and landings, we enjoyed a breakfast at the airport café, and had many tasty happy hours and meals. Two birthdays were celebrated, Tom Wyatt and Paula Goetz, and we had two guests from the Mission Viejo Lodge join us, RJ and Sharon.

We will hold our annual Christmas Party on December 15, when we will all bring a child’s gift to donate to the Charity Committee for distribution at Christmas.

Let’s not forget our first ever lodge event: a real life SPAGHETTI WESTERN, a ticketed dinner dance at our lodge. This is not our first rodeo, so lookout partner, you might be arrested and have to pay a fine to get out of jail, learn some line dancing, take a photo, or buy a fancy Western hat or drinkin’ cup.

Our regular meetings on the fourth Thursday of the month will resume January 25th at 6:00 pm for dinner and 7:30 pm for the meeting. When you come, check in with the host/hostess in the lobby and they’ll let you know where to find us. We don’t meet in November or December.

We welcome all Elks in any type of rig, singles, couples and families. Call Chuck Goetz, president, at 562-619-5656 or [email protected], and he will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

In September we will be going to the KQ Ranch in Julian. Reservations will be in the tenting area with water & power confirmed. If we have enough people attending, we will do a White Elephant Sale which has always been fun and profitable.

October will find us in Hemet at the 55th Annual CHEMPI (California Hawaii rally to raise money for the Elk's Purple Pig) Rally. The Purple Pig events raise money to provide therapy to children who would not otherwise get the therapy they need.
We will have a potluck dinner Thursday & Friday and attend dinner in the Clubhouse on Saturday. Some will be attending the served breakfasts. There are many activities to attend at this rally, and we look forward to it.

The first part of November we will be at Bonelli Park, La Verne. This weekend will have an aviation theme with lunch at the airport.

Our Annual Christmas Dinner at the Elks Lodge will be held on Friday, Dec. 15 in the Emerald Room beginning with a no-host bar at 5:00 pm. Contact Isabelle ([email protected]) for more information.

New Year's Eve we'll be back at the Golden Palms RV Resort.

The fun continues into 2024. February we will be at Vail Lake KOA, Temecula. Ten sites, mostly pull-thru are reserved. Wineries only minutes away. There are also cabins available to rent if you are currently without a rig.

Thinking about our next outing in Lake Elsinore. We'll be watching a minor league ball game, and having fun exploring. Somehow we'll find the discount shopping center and antique stores, as well as eating, drinking and being merry!

Ya-hoo! We just had an outing with all the cowboys at the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo. Bucking broncos to the right of us, bulls to the left of us, great steaks, strawberries, food and friends all around us; what more could anyone ask? We enjoyed all that the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo offered. A parade through the downtown, eating at Jocko’s in Nipomo and a breakfast and shopping in Orcutt provided entertainment for everyone in our group.

We have many outings planned for this year, and some for 2024 already:
July 13-16: Lake Elsinore Marina & RV. The cost will be $40/night and $14.50 for the ballgame.
September 21-24: KQ Ranch. Emerald Cove now owns the park and the cost will be $30/night.
October 12-15: Hemet, 55th Annual CHEMPI Rally.
November 2-5: Bonelli, LaVerne.; aviation theme, $251.33
December 15: Annual Christmas Dinner, 5:30 pm

Outings 2024
February 8-11: Vail Lake KOA, Temecula $225.00
