Thank you to the Assembly and Senate for including $30 million for the program in the 2026 CA Budget! 👏 We applaud you for continuing to support Californians in the face of hate.

We are especially grateful to Senator John Laird and Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel for their leadership in the budget process! Thank you so much to Assemblymembers Robert Rivas, Mike Fong, Corey Jackson, Stephanie Nguyen, and Alex Lee, as well as Senators Monique Limón, Aisha Wahab, and Christopher Cabaldon, and the entire AAPI Legislative Caucus, for your leadership in taking a stand against hate in California. 🤍

Big shout out to the Klarin Family for awarding scholarships to 10 of our Newport Harbor BRIDGES students this year! Typically they only award 3 students but decided to very generously award 10 this year due to their remarkable entries! And even more so, Congratulations to our bridges students!

Dena Williams is the founder of DW Consulting, where she leads social impact and philanthropy strategy for foundations, corporations, and nonprofit partners. Beyond her consulting work, Dena has been actively engaged in nonprofit leadership throughout her career. She joined the Groundswell Board of Directors in 2025 and brings deep experience in philanthropy, partnership strategy, and community-centered program management.

"I joined Groundswell because its work sits at the intersection of so much that matters to me: community & and creating stronger systems for belonging. I was especially drawn to the fact that Groundswell does not just talk about equity in theory.
