Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County Healthy Smiles for Kids of OC has integrated with AltaMed Health Services! Together we will continue to improve children's oral health in OC!

We have a 7,000 square foot pediatric dental facility, the 'Smile Center", located within the CHOC Children's Health and Dental Center in Garden Grove. The "Smile Center" provides children ages 0-17 living in underserved communities with quality and specialty dental care from routine check-ups to sedation treatment. Healthy Smiles also provides specialty dental care to children with serious compli

cated medical conditions through the 'Smile Clinic", a two-chair dental clinic and through access to operating room time located within CHOC Children's Hospital. A patient's visit to the "Smile Center" begins with fun and educational activities at the Tooth Fairy Learning Center. Bilingual outreach workers teach and demonstrate the basics of oral hygiene and nutrition to families and children, as well as assist families in accessing financial resources for care. Healthy Smiles is a satellite site of The Ostrow School of Dentistry of University of Southern California, Advanced Pediatric Dental Residency Program and through this partnership, Healthy Smiles provides a full range of sedation dental services at both the 'Smile Center' and the 'Smile Clinic" that address extreme and complex oral issues and children with medically fragile conditions. Healthy Smiles also screens children throughout Orange County through its school-based prevention program aboard the Smile Mobile. The Smile Mobile is a two-chair mobile dental clinic that offers prevention services to children at numerous Title I public schools throughout Orange County. Children receive prevention services including screenings, fluoride varnish, sealants and referrals to a community 'dental home' for routine care. Healthy Smiles provides classroom education in oral health, nutrition and wellness to 10 different school districts throughout Orange County and also provides education at numerous community health events throughout Orange County. Healthy Smiles is the lead agency of the Orange County Pediatric Oral Health Collaborative, a coordinated group of community clinics offering dental services and through its prevention and education services, we link children to community clinics for routine care.
