👣 Place both feet on the ground.
🌬 Take a slow breath in for 4 counts.
🌬 Exhale gently for 6 counts.
👀 Notice 3 things you can see.
🤲 Notice 2 things you can feel.
✨ Notice 1 thing you're grateful for.

This practice can help signal safety to the nervous system and create a moment of calm in the middle of a busy day.

Difficult conversations can quickly activate our nervous system, making it harder to respond from a place of connection.

The next time you notice tension, defensiveness, or anxiety arise, try this simple grounding practice:
💚 Place one hand on your heart.
💚 Take a slow inhale through your nose.
💚 Exhale longer than you inhale.
💚 Repeat silently:
"Just like me, this person wants to be loved."
"Just like me, this person wants to belong."

Take three slow breaths before responding.

Sometimes a small pause can help us move from reactivity to compassion.
