We are beyond thrilled to announce that we have placed 2nd in the Dragon Challenge and have earned an additional $4,000 in funding to continue making Talking Points happen! This incredible milestone tops off an over 8 month journey with the The Dragon Kim Foundation, but it is certainly not the end. We’ll forever cherish the guidance given to us by Daniel H. Kim, Amber Serafin, Dan Pittman, Suzie Suh, our mentor Michael Moretti, our intern ryeong, and the whole DKF team. Thank you to Steven Choi for the recognition and to Wing Lam, William Taormina, and David Kim for judging the event and for your kind words and encouragement.
A huge thank you to all of the organizations who have worked with us and supported us throughout this journey, like KidWorks, First Presbyterian Church, Thrive Santa Ana, and Delhi Center. A major shoutout to all of our volunteers who gave their time and all of our donors who believed in our mission. We have an immense amount of respect for all of the projects in the DKF10 cohort with us and major props to Green Steps, Healing Hoops, Loops of Love, MindcraftHERS, and Untold Pages for making it to the finals with us and for being such an inspiration.
Taking Points exists because of an inequality in access to communication skills education and a community of people committed to bridging that Voice Gap by teaching valuable communication skills to students who will experience the real-world implications of having learned them.
