We were so happy to welcome Zabrina Black, CEO, and Margaret Baugher, Program Director from Dr. Piper Center for Social Services to our Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva membership meeting this week!

They shared more about the incredible work they do to enhance the social and economic well-being of individuals 55+ across Southwest Florida. Supporting not only seniors, but also at-risk youth in our community.

We especially loved learning about their EmpowerEd Seniors Program, which provides senior women with free computer training to help them stay connected, informed, and confident in today’s digital world.

As one of our valued grant partners, we were proud to present them with funding to support this impactful program. Partnerships like this help us continue empowering women and strengthening our community!

Zontians had the best time supporting our grant partner, Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties Women Build! From attending the Kickoff Party, volunteering on-site, and celebrating at their Thank You Party!

Through this program, women gain construction skills, build strength and confidence, and take steps toward homeownership and stability. We’re proud to support their mission and truly value this partnership that creates lasting impact!

Spend your evening learning something new! Join us tonight for a self defense class!

In partnership with Sanibel Pilates and Spa, we’re hosting a Self Defense Class from 6–8 PM at Sanibel Community Church, presented by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. The session will cover situational awareness, personal safety strategies, and hands-on self-defense techniques.

Bring a friend, a daughter, or come solo—middle and high school girls are especially encouraged to attend.

Details:
• $20 suggested donation at the door
• Proceeds support Zonta’s mission, including Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women
• 10% of retail sales at Sanibel Pilates & Spa (April 12–18) will be donated to the Zonta Foundation of Southwest Florida

Join us for an empowering evening focused on confidence, awareness, and safety! In partnership with Sanibel Pilates and Spa, we're hosting a Self Defense Class on April 16th from 6–8 PM at Sanibel Community Church.

Presented by the Lee County Sheriff's Office, this session will focus on situational awareness, personal safety strategies, and practical self-defense techniques, with hands-on moves taught at the end.

Bring a friend, a daughter, or come solo. We especially encourage middle and high school girls to attend. This is a meaningful way to learn, connect, and support a powerful cause.

What a wonderful day yesterday at Peek at the Unique!

Thank you to our generous donors, sponsors, and all of the amazing Peekers who joined us and supported the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva and the Zonta Foundation of Southwest Florida.

Because of you, this event helps fund next year’s Empowerment Grants, supporting organizations throughout Southwest Florida whose work aligns with Zonta’s mission to build a better world for women and girls.

We are so grateful to everyone who helped make the day such a success and for continuing to support the work we do in our community!

It’s Peek Day! 🏡✨ The first buses are rolling out to tour four beautiful Sanibel homes, and we couldn’t be more excited!

Even if you weren’t able to join the tour, you can still be part of the fun. Stop by the Sanibel Community House today until 2PM to browse our raffle and auction items and join in the excitement. Every ticket and bid helps support programs that uplift and empower women and girls!

We’re less than a week away from Peek at the Unique! ✨ Join us on March 14 for a special tour of four distinctive Sanibel homes, each showcasing beautiful design, creativity, and the resilience of island living. From thoughtfully renovated spaces to elevated homes rebuilt after the storm and interiors inspired by travel and nature, every stop offers something unique to discover.

Your tour will begin and end at the Sanibel Community House! After checking in, you can browse our raffle and closed-bid auction items generously donated by local businesses and supporters. Even if you’re not going on the tour this year, you’re still welcome to stop by the Community House between 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM to take a look and purchase raffle tickets to support the Zonta Foundation of Southwest Florida and the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva.
