Our Buckaroos are bunked eight campers to a cabin with two counselors per cabin. Buckaroos participate in activities as a cabin group and are accompanied by their counselors at all times. Our program staff helps our “Bucks” select a schedule of their choice, while ensuring they are introduced to a variety of activities designed to fit their interest and abilities. This is a wonderful age to begin the overnight camp experience and gives our younger campers the security of being with their counselors and the opportunity to bond and make lifelong friendships. RANCHEROS—Ages 10-12
Rancheros are encouraged to develop skills in activities of their choice and are able to design their own activity schedule. With four different activity periods each day and our exciting campout trips, Rancheros gain a unique sense of strength and independence. Friends may sign up to take activities together—offering an outstanding opportunity to develop healthy attitudes and participate together in sports, trips, team-building, and special events. SENIORS—Ages 13-16
Our older, more responsible campers, seniors have all the flexibility of arranging their own activity schedules. As a Senior, campers can specialize in any activity, such as Paintball or Ropes Course, by signing up for the same activity in back to back activity periods. In addition to special “Senior Only” activities, Senior Day may include White Water Rafting on the Kings River, Senior Dinner and Dance, and Senior Outcamp. COUNSELOR IN TRAINING(CIT) PROGRAM (ages 15-17)
River Way’s CIT program has established a reputation as being one of the finest training experiences anywhere. The CIT learns to work with children and participates in workshops that foster teamwork, build organizational skills, and learn different teaching techniques. The CIT program is a natural progression onto our paid Junior Staff. Skills taught in the CIT program include:

APPRENTICE PROGRAM (AGES 14-15)
The AP Program will not only prepare your teen to work with children, but includes workshops to strengthen organizational skills, teaching techniques, motivational training and team building. The program is designed for teen's ages 14-15. Each participant may progress at their own pace, eventually acquiring the skills necessary to move into the CIT Program, should they so desire. No prior camp knowledge is necessary. We will teach your teen everything he/she needs to know so that they have the best chance at being successful.
