Trail Life USA Troop TX 5146 Our vision is to be the premier character development organization for young men which produces Godly and responsible husbands, fathers, and citizens.

Trail Life USA is a Christian adventure, character, and leadership movement for our nation’s young men. Our exciting K-12 program centers on outdoor experiences that build a young man’s skills and allow him to grow on a personal level and as a role model and leader for his peers. Our Christ-centered program is chartered by churches and organizations and led by high caliber Christian adults using a

specifically biblical worldview as our standard. Trail Life USA has programs for each age level. Woodlands Trail:
Foxes – Kindergarten to 1st grade
Hawks – 2nd to 3rd grade
Mountain Lions – 4th to 5th grade

Navigators
6th to 8th grade. Adventurers
9th to 12th grade. Guidon
18-25 yrs old. As young men progress through the various levels of the TRAIL LIFE USA program, they take part in camping, leadership development, rank advancement, awards, earn Trail Badges, community service, projects, summer adventures, spiritual training, and a variety of special offerings. Many of our Charter Partners and members are joining us following previous involvement in the Boy Scout program. For them, it is comforting to know that existing BSA ranks, awards, merit badges, and training will be readily transferable to this new program. In fact, Scouts on the “Trail to Eagle” are able to transfer over to the “Trail to Freedom.” The work that they have already completed will be recognized and will not be lost. And the many scouts and leaders (young and old) who have already earned the coveted rank of Eagle Scout will also have the opportunity to serve in Trail Life USA and earn our premier award—the “Freedom Award.”

“We were considering contacting a museum. Between the glow of his screen and the imprint in his gaming chair, we thought he was turning into a fossilized exhibit titled “Teenager in His Natural Habitat.”

Then a friend dragged him to Trail Life.

Now? He’s got a full-blown case of Apathy Dysphoria (AD).

Symptoms may include:
- Curiosity and ambition where apathy used to live
- Outdoor exploration that doesn't need Wi-Fi
- A growing intolerance for endless screentime
- Household items suspiciously tied up in knots
- And a serious case of zero-patience-for-buffering

Since catching AD, my son slips away to finish projects, hikes for fun, and moves with a purpose that makes the rest of us rethink our routine.

Trailmen, families, and fellow troops—come celebrate with us!

Gavin Edwards of Troop TX-5146 has completed the journey to earn the Freedom Award, Trail Life USA’s highest honor. This moment marks years of faith, leadership, service, and steadfast commitment to living out the Trail Life oath.
