🇺🇸 California in Louisville — 54th Annual Sons of The American Legion National Convention 🇺🇸

What a memorable and successful National Convention in Louisville, Kentucky!

The Detachment of California was proudly represented throughout the convention as members participated in training, caucus meetings, general sessions, committee work, fellowship, and the business of the Sons of The American Legion.

📸 Convention Highlights

California Delegation
Proud to stand alongside dedicated members from throughout California as we represented our Squadrons, Districts, Areas, and Detachment on the national level.

California Caucus
Detachment Commander William “Bill” Hernandez shared California’s successful membership report and recognized the teamwork that helped our Detachment exceed its membership goal.

Training & Leadership Development
Members participated in valuable training focused on communication, leadership, networking, Squadron/Post relationships, and strengthening our organization.

National Leadership
It was an honor to spend time with 2025–2026 National Commander William “Bill” Clancy III and other national leaders who continue to dedicate themselves to the mission of the Sons of The American Legion.

Fellowship & Camaraderie
Some of the best moments happen outside the meetings—reconnecting with longtime friends, meeting new members from across the country, exchanging ideas, and building relationships that strengthen our organization.

Welcoming Our New National Commander
Congratulations to Thom Skelley of Texas, elected Sons of The American Legion National Commander for 2026–2027. Best wishes to Commander Skelley and the entire National leadership team for a successful year.

The convention may have ended, but the work continues.

We return home with new knowledge, stronger friendships, renewed energy, and an even greater commitment to supporting veterans, strengthening our Squadrons, growing membership, and carrying forward the legacy of those whose service made us eligible to belong.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Louisville such a successful and memorable National Convention.

🇺🇸 Honoring Service.
Carrying the Legacy.
🇺🇸 For God and Country.
