Hey folks! Our friends over at the Sierra National Forest and Student Conservation Association are seeking applicants to fill botany internships for the 2026 field season.

These positions offer a great opportunity for early-career botanists looking to bolster their resume and gain experience in invasive species management, fire ecology, and post-fire vegetation monitoring. Please reach out with questions!

Join CNPS Sequoia Chapter Sunday, April 12th for the kick off of our rare plant monitoring and evaluation program. We will be attempting to fill in a lot of the gaps in the data about two rare species in the Sierra Nevada, orange lupin (Lupinus citrinus var. citrinus) and Abram’s onion (Allium abramsii). Come get trained on how to identify the species, how to collect data, and where to look for it. This will be a fun excursion to see a number of rare plants and maybe even some foothill yellow legged frog if we’re lucky. We will meet at the Auberry Park and Ride at 9 AM and should be done by 1 or 2. Please RSVP for this event to [email protected].

Join us on February 14th at 9:00am at China Creek Park for a guided walk with the CNPS where you’ll learn about native plants and restoring natural habitats on our first ever Valentine’s day walk!!!

Hi everyone!!!!!! Join us this SATURDAY for a planting day!!! December 13 at 9am until we are done🫶 we will be planting multiple different species at the park including:
Western sycamore
Valley oak
button willow
Western Red Bud
Soap root
Deer Grass
Yarrow
Western golden rod
Western vervain Please join us and wear multiple layers of clothing and being plenty of water!! It will be a foggy day so make sure to drive safe. Can’t wait to see you there🫶🫶🌱🌿

Hello everyone please join us for some Yoga at China Creek Park this Saturday!! This event will happen from 11-12 but please come 15-30 minutes early to set up and walk to the oak tree. We will be under one of our 200-300 year old oaks. We will be guided through a relaxing session of yoga by Hannah.

Hello everyone we will be having our spooky bat walk on October 25!!! We are pleased to have some Arts and Crafts as well as Central Valley astronomers as well as David Lent from Fresno state doing bat detection to help us make our event more enjoyable!!! NOTE: We do not have any bathrooms on the property and want to remind everyone to come prepared and ready for a fun night.

Hello everyone!!!! On October 25 we will be having a spooked bat walk out at China Creek Park. We will be doing arts and crafts for the first hour and then we will be doing tours led by our wonderful volunteers!!! Get ready for a spooky walk around the park!!!
