Sanford FOP Lodge #140 was honored once again to support the 14th Annual Matt Miller Police Motor Skills Challenge. The Sanford FOP proudly provided our signature BBQ lunch to the riders and support staff on the day of the event, and also served lunch to spectators in exchange for donations to the Matt Miller Fund.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity, $277.00 was raised this year in support of a great cause. We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this event and look forward to supporting it for many years to come.

Funeral Information – Retired Sgt. Augustino Fontana

Immediately following the viewing.

Following the service, a procession will depart to Oaklawn Cemetery, located directly across the street, for final honors and interment.

We encourage all who are able to attend and stand in honor of Sgt. Fontana’s service and sacrifice. Please keep the Fontana family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

On behalf of Sanford FOP Lodge #140, we are saddened to share the passing of retired Sgt. Tino Fontana.

Sgt. Fontana proudly served with the Sanford Police Department until his retirement in 1998. His dedication to law enforcement and to the Sanford community will always be remembered.

Please keep his family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

At this time, funeral services have not yet been announced. We will share arrangements as soon as they become available.

As we bring 2025 to a close, the Sanford FOP Lodge #140 held our annual Lodge Christmas Party at the Sanford Moose Lodge, and it was a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday season together.

On behalf of Lodge #140, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us to celebrate this special time of year.

On December 6th, 2025, Sanford FOP Lodge 140 held our annual Cops for Christmas event and it was another HUGE success! Thanks to the incredible partnership between our Lodge, the Sanford Police Department, and our community, we were able to provide breakfast and Christmas shopping for over 130 children this year.

Cops for Christmas offers an opportunity for local children to experience a truly magical Christmas made possible through the generosity and support of our community. Events like these highlight the power of partnership and remind us why we are so proud to serve a city that consistently comes together to love and bless families in need. So many hearts were filled with joy that day.

This event would not be possible without the amazing and continued support from Ladies 327, Sanford Police Department, Dee’s Brothers Brewery, Target, Texas Roadhouse, Lights and More, Sol Aire Air Conditioning and all our dedicated volunteers.

A special thank you goes out to Kim Colegrove and the Ladies of 327, there are truly no words to express our gratitude for your tremendous organization, dedication, and support to our Lodge. Your efforts have helped this event grow in remarkable ways year after year.

On behalf of the Sanford Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #140, we offer our deepest condolences to the family of Retired Lt. Jerry Riggins of the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office. Lt. Riggins was a mentor to many in law enforcement, and we are deeply saddened by his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this difficult time.
