Take Stock in Children: Making dreams a reality with mentors & scholarships for ambitious at-risk high school students in Seminole Co. Public Schools.

Take Stock in Children is a unique program of the Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools that provides mentor partnerships and scholarship opportunities to at-risk youth in our community. The mission of Take Stock in Children is to passionately promote personal growth, self-responsibility, and academic success for deserving at-risk children. We do this by providing a unique set of resources including mentors, scholarships, student advocacy, and guaranteed educational opportunity.

Our 30 Take Stock scholars, our biggest graduating class, have graduated with an average GPA of 3.7 and together they have completed 3,498 volunteer hours. With 120 students in the program, and 117 mentors, we are growing each year, offering scholarships, mentors, and hope. Our seniors and their mentors have spent over 2,700 incredible mentor sessions together in the past 4 years of high school. 100% of our seniors agreed that the meeting with their mentor was the most beneficial part of the TSIC program. 🎓 Outstanding Senior: Nyla Trice 🎓

Nyla will graduate from Lake Howell High School with an AP Capstone Diploma and an impressive 4.6 GPA. Throughout high school Nyla was actively part of Lake Howell’s Step Team, Health and Wellness club, Choir, Student Government and National Honors Society. Her favorite high school memory is joining the Dynasty Dance team. After graduation, Nyla plans to attend University of Central Florida to study architecture. We would like to recognize Nyla as this year’s Take Stock Seminole Class of 2026 Outstanding Senior. Each year one senior is nominated and chosen for their dedication to education and future success. Nyla shares, “To me Take Stock means family. It’s knowing that there are people on your side who only want the best for you. Take Stock has provided so much support for me. It’s a huge opportunity.” Congratulations Nyla!

🎓Senior Highlight: Adam Zwierkowski 🎓

Adam will graduate from Lyman High School where he earned over 300 community service hours and 5 AP credits. Adam enjoyed his time in the culinary labs where he earned 2 culinary certificates, and he had fun cooking with his friends. Adam plans to study biology at Valenica College. Congratulations Adam!

🎓 Senior Highlight: Patrick Woideck 🎓

Patrick will graduate from Oviedo High School. He plans to attend Seminole State College and major in Mechanical Engineering in the fall. Patrick says over the last 4 years he has become a better person and is able to decide on his future because of Take Stock. Congratulations Patrick!

🎓 Senior Highlight: Danielle Williams 🎓

Danielle will graduate from Seminole High School and plans to attend University of Central Florida to major in Biology. Her favorite memories from high school were participating in Cheer. Danielle states, cheering during her senior night and having the support of her friends and family was so special. “I was put up in the air too; it was so scary but so fun at the same time!” Congratulations Danielle!

🎓 Senior Highlight: Aiyana Williams 🎓

Aiyana will graduate from Lyman High School with 100 community service hours spent volunteering in her community. She plans to attend Seminole State College and major in interior design with a minor in business. Her favorite memory at Lyman High School was participating in Young Women of Excellence. Aiyana also participated in Lyman’s Theater Company, providing hair and makeup support. Congratulations Aiyana!

🎓 Senior Highlight: Alyana Smith 🎓

Alyana will graduate from Winter Springs High School where she enjoyed her time in the chorus program, singing has been a joy and pleasure for her. It will be what she carries with her the most and a reminder of how much happiness singing brings her. Alyana plans to attend Lee University with a music major. Congratulations Alyana!

Anna will graduate from Crooms Academy of Information Technology High School. She plans to attend University of Central Florida and study business. Anna’s favorite memory of high school was working with her classmates during an ambassador event. She had so much fun while learning how to work together and being productive at the same time. Congratulations Anna!

🎓 Senior Highlight: Justice Sampson 🎓

Justice will graduate from Oviedo High School. She plans to enroll in Miami Dade College where she will study Natural Sciences. Justice enjoyed being involved with the Black Student Union which gave her a bigger understanding of her culture and the pickle ball club allowed her time to have fun and stay active with friends! She has so many favorite memories of high school, she can’t pick just one! Congratulations Justice!

🎓 Senior Highlight: Jenzel Rivera 🎓

Jenzel will graduate from Winter Springs High School and plans to attend Seminole State College in the fall to study Automotive Engineering Technology. His favorite memory of high school was singing in chorus with friends laughing his lungs out. He also cherishes the moment during a dramatic comeback for his varsity volleyball team, when he got subbed in the middle, a position he had never played before, and scored a point! Congratulations Jenzel!
