Take Stock in Children is a unique program of the Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools that provides mentor partnerships and scholarship opportunities to at-risk youth in our community. The mission of Take Stock in Children is to passionately promote personal growth, self-responsibility, and academic success for deserving at-risk children. We do this by providing a unique set of resources including mentors, scholarships, student advocacy, and guaranteed educational opportunity.

Soon, these mentors will be introduced to their new students and will spend the school year meeting with them weekly, building meaningful and trusting relationships.

🎉 Thank You, Lynn Collins and Ricoh! 🎉

We are honored to recognize TSIC mentor Lynn Collins, whose dedication to mentoring a student through all four years of high school has made a lasting impact.

As a recipient of Ricoh's People, Planet, and Prosperity Award, Lynn selected TSIC to receive a $1,000 donation in recognition of her volunteer service. This marks the second year in a row that Ricoh has generously supported our organization through this award.

The People, Planet, and Prosperity Award celebrates Ricoh team members who make a difference in their communities through volunteerism and charitable service.

Last night we welcomed back to school our 9th grade scholars at the Take Stock Freshmen Success Workshop! During the workshop, students received helpful tools, resources, and guidance for a successful school year. With a special thanks to Tools 4 Seminole Schools, our students were able to shop and pick out their schools supplies to help start the school year strong. Take Stock - Alumni Spotlight

Our 30 Take Stock scholars, our biggest graduating class, have graduated with an average GPA of 3.7 and together they have completed 3,498 volunteer hours. With 120 students in the program, and 117 mentors, we are growing each year, offering scholarships, mentors, and hope. Our seniors and their mentors have spent over 2,700 incredible mentor sessions together in the past 4 years of high school. 100% of our seniors agreed that the meeting with their mentor was the most beneficial part of the TSIC program. 🎓 Outstanding Senior: Nyla Trice 🎓

Nyla will graduate from Lake Howell High School with an AP Capstone Diploma and an impressive 4.6 GPA. Throughout high school Nyla was actively part of Lake Howell’s Step Team, Health and Wellness club, Choir, Student Government and National Honors Society. Her favorite high school memory is joining the Dynasty Dance team. After graduation, Nyla plans to attend University of Central Florida to study architecture. We would like to recognize Nyla as this year’s Take Stock Seminole Class of 2026 Outstanding Senior. Each year one senior is nominated and chosen for their dedication to education and future success. Nyla shares, “To me Take Stock means family. It’s knowing that there are people on your side who only want the best for you. Take Stock has provided so much support for me. 🎓Senior Highlight: Adam Zwierkowski 🎓

Adam will graduate from Lyman High School where he earned over 300 community service hours and 5 AP credits. Adam enjoyed his time in the culinary labs where he earned 2 culinary certificates, and he had fun cooking with his friends. Adam plans to study biology at Valenica College. Congratulations Adam!

🎓 Senior Highlight: Patrick Woideck 🎓

Patrick will graduate from Oviedo High School. He plans to attend Seminole State College and major in Mechanical Engineering in the fall. Patrick says over the last 4 years he has become a better person and is able to decide on his future because of Take Stock. Congratulations Patrick!
