We meet the first Thursday of every month except July. Meetings are usually at Elizabeth's Pizza, but be sure the check the website, FB page or FB events to make sure. We invite you to join BPW for our monthly meeting. Guests interested in learning more about BPW are invited to attend. Networking starts at 5 pm, with the meeting starting at 5:30.

Summer break doesn’t mean Sanford Business & Professional Women is taking a break from supporting our community!

Our President, Rachelle Whitfield, along with several Sanford BPW members, had the opportunity to attend the Sanford Area Growth Alliance Business After Hours hosted by Helping Hand Clinic. It was a wonderful evening of connecting with fellow business and community leaders while learning more about the incredible work Helping Hand is doing to serve our community.

While we didn’t manage to get a group photo, we’re happy to share this picture of President Rachelle Whitfield with Gwendolyn Lee-Cooper, Executive Director of Helping Hand Clinic. Thank you, Gwendolyn, for your passion, leadership, and commitment to making a difference in the lives of so many.

At Sanford BPW, we believe strong communities are built through collaboration, service, and supporting organizations that are making a lasting impact.

Sanford Business & Professional Women may be on summer break from our monthly meetings, but we remain actively engaged in supporting and celebrating our community!

This week, our President, Rachelle Whitfield, joined Vice President of Programs Yenly Clancy and Vice President of Membership Theresa Conway at the ribbon-cutting celebration for Play Escape, hosted by the Sanford Area Growth Alliance.

We are especially proud that Sanford BPW sponsored a $5,000 RISE Scholarship, an initiative of the Sanford Area Growth Alliance that helps entrepreneurs turn their dreams into thriving businesses. Through this partnership, we were honored to support Play Escape—a locally owned, woman-owned business that has already created 20 jobs in our community.

Congratulations to the Play Escape team on this exciting milestone! Your vision, hard work, and investment in Sanford are making a lasting impact, and we are grateful to have been a small part of your journey.

At Sanford BPW, we believe that when women succeed, our entire community grows stronger.

Jan Hayes is Managing Partner of Hayes Group Consulting LLC and a respected leader in economic and community development. After retiring as Executive Director of United Way of Lee County, she has continued to make a powerful impact through service across local and state boards.

And recently, the Lee County Community Foundation announced Jan as one of the recipients of its 2026 Man and Woman of the Year Awards—what an incredible honor!
