Chamberlin and Laguna claim Rum Race wins, four female captains compete in May event

Shifty Sunday proved to be quite the challenge, with nearly every leg of the race turning out to be upwind. Olivier and Bill found themselves aground while heading to Marker 8, but despite this setback, Olivier rounded Marker 8 ahead, with Bill and Fisk closely behind. As the race progressed, Olivier extended his lead significantly and held a strong advantage when he rounded the Rum mark. Bill and Fisk took different tacks toward Rum, but Bill managed to pull ahead and rounded the mark first. However, the wind filled in from behind, allowing Olivier, Bill and Fisk to finish in dramatic fashion nearly simultaneously. In a thrilling conclusion, Olivier clinched the victory by a mere 35 seconds over Bill, with Fisk securing third place. Meanwhile, two boats lagged over an hour behind, struggling to navigate around Marker 8 due to the unpredictable wind shifts. They eventually rounded both markers and finished, albeit drenched. One boat withdrew from the race, and while it was uncertain if they even started, they still walked away with the bottle!

Four ladies competed in the May 2026 LOL Championship Series!! There was great wind! Tight Racing! A little sh*****ng! Just a whole lot of fun all around!! Congratulations to the winners!!
