Jamboree-on-the-Air, or JOTA, is the largest Scouting event in the world. It is held annually the third full weekend in October. JOTA uses amateur radio to link Scouts and hams around the world, around the nation, and in your own community.

Lake Monroe Amateur Radio Society and Pack 39 are providing a local opportunity for members of Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA and their families to participate in this event at East Seminole County VFW Post 10139. Scouts can come and go any time between 11 AM and 1:30 PM on Saturday, October 18th to participate in this event.

There will be an opportunity for Scouts to earn the Radio Merit Badge. Scouts interested on working on the merit badge should be there from 11 AM-2 PM, but they will still have the opportunity to complete the merit badge if they can't stay the whole time.

For more information about JOTA, see https://www.scouting.org/international/jota-joti/jota/.

Cub Scout Leaders and Parents! We need volunteers for Shooting Sports this Saturday. Location is established. Rangemasters are in place. Bounce house and obstacle course are in place. The food truck is in place. Supplies and equipment are in place. However, we need an extra 10 volunteers to help run the event for our Scouts.
We need help with everything from setting up/breaking down, checking people in, aiding the rangemasters, escorting/guiding families between stations, and monitoring bounce houses and the food truck among other areas that might arise. Please respond to this post or email [email protected] if you can volunteer.
