As a new school year begins, we’re proud to welcome the newest Larry H. and Gail Miller Enrichment Scholars and Heidi and Greg Miller Single Parent Scholars at the University of Utah.

At our recent cohort meetings, we had the opportunity to welcome students, hear about their aspirations, and celebrate the determination that brought them to this next chapter. We’re cheering them on as they learn, lead and grow—and look forward to the impact they’ll make in their communities this school year.

The Short Game Challenge kicked off the 100th Larry H. Miller Utah Open at Riverside Country Club, bringing Special Olympians, community leaders, mascots and Larry H. Miller Company leaders together for a day on the course.

To mark 100 years of the Utah Open, the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation made a $100,000 gift to Special Olympics Utah, supporting year-round sports programming for athletes of all abilities.

100 years in, the Utah Open is still bringing our community together. Here’s to the next century.

The Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation is proud to support Utah’s annual Days of ‘47 Rodeo Rodeo and Young Guns Rodeo in Oakley, including scholarships for this year’s Young Guns Rodeo champions.

As one of Utah’s most cherished traditions, the rodeo brings communities together, celebrates our shared heritage, pioneering spirit and inspires the next generation to carry that legacy forward.

Last week, members of the Utah Family Philanthropy Learning Cohort gathered to learn, connect and explore the role legacy plays in family philanthropy.

A highlight of the day was a fireside conversation featuring Gail Miller and two third-generation family members, Kat Miller and Courtney Hawks, who shared thoughtful reflections on generosity, family values and how intentional giving can create a lasting impact for future generations.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a meaningful day of conversation, connection and shared learning.

For 250 years, America has been shaped by the people, ideas and moments that brought us to where we are today.

As we celebrate this historic milestone, we’re proud to celebrate our nation’s story—its resilience, its progress and the generations who continue to write its next chapter.

Here’s to the past that inspires us and the future we’ll build together.

Gail Miller, along with her family and the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation extend their deepest condolences to the Huntsman family upon the passing of their beloved mother, Karen Huntsman. We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend and mourn with all who knew and loved her.

Karen leaves a remarkable legacy of compassion, strength, service and love. Together with Jon Sr. and their family, she established a philanthropic legacy with lasting impact in many areas including cancer treatment and cures, mental health, helping the homeless and other important areas.

For many years our Foundation has been honored to work alongside the Huntsman family, the Huntsman Mental Health Institute and Foundation and the Huntsman Cancer Institute, sharing our united commitment to enrich lives and strengthen communities.

We join with untold numbers in acknowledging the good work that will continue in her name. We honor Karen’s life and example with gratitude and deep respect and send our heartfelt sympathies to her family.

A new chapter begins in July as Amanda Covington assumes the role of Executive Director of Miller Family Philanthropy and the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation, in addition to her responsibilities as Chief Corporate Affairs at the Larry H. Miller Company.

We’re deeply grateful to Don Stirling for his thoughtful stewardship and the philanthropic relationships he has helped build and strengthen across Utah. His work has played an important role in advancing this mission and expanding the foundation’s impact in communities throughout the state.

We look forward to Amanda’s dedicated leadership in this next chapter and to continuing our mission of enriching lives and strengthening communities.

This Memorial Day, we honor the courage, sacrifice and enduring strength of those who have served.

Last week, the Atlantis Foundation kicked off the summer season by welcoming Special Forces veterans for a special program at Range Valley Ranch—creating space to build skills, strengthen community and support their transition from combat to civilian life.

They began by raising a 40x80 American flag on the ranch’s 150-foot flagpole, a powerful reminder of the freedom so many have fought to protect.

At the Miller Family Foundation, we are proud to work with organizations like the Atlantis Foundation who support those who have served today and every day.

Last week, we convened philanthropic leaders for the second session of the Utah Family Philanthropy Learning Cohort—a collaborative experience focused on learning, connection, and strengthening the impact of philanthropy in our communities.

A few themes especially stood out:
▪️Strong governance matters.
▪️Understanding the current landscape of
philanthropy in Utah matters.
▪️Relationships matter. Some of the best insights
come from learning alongside one another and
sharing experiences openly.

Thank you to the National Center for Family Philanthropy, and Jacob Allen from Cicero for their contributions and to for hosting us. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with others committed to thoughtful, values-driven philanthropy across Utah.
