Save Our Local Pets Utah is a 501c3 organization committed to ending euthanasia in shelters across the state of Utah. Our mission is to bridge the gap between the community and shelter's & rescues. Many of the shelters and rescues are operating on a very limited budget and/or are hand to mouth on the supplies that they need. This is where we step in to provide assistance and support with the much

needed supplies to save lives. NKUT is an initiative led by Best Friends Animal Society that brings together passionate individuals, city shelters, and an entire coalition of animal welfare organizations to end the killing of dogs and cats in shelters throughout the entire state of Utah by the year 2019. Their plan is straightforward: provide spay/neuter services where they are needed most so that fewer animals go into shelters, and increase adoptions so that more animals are placed into new homes. Save Our Local Pets was inspired by Kandie the Therapy Pittie's I'm Not A Monster - Monster Holiday Drive. The Holiday Drive is a national campaign to bring holiday cheer to animals waiting to find their forever homes. Due to the fantastic response from the community and NKUT partners we decided to expand the holiday drive to run all year long because the need for help isn't only during the holidays. Step by critical step, we believe that together, we can make a difference.

Another year has gone by. 3 years since Kelly Lawson left this earth. Time keeps going and so do we. We lost her dog Kibbull in September. But Kismet, Kanab and Kadyn are still with us. We want to believe that Kelly and Kandie were there to greet Kibbull and that they had a beautiful reunion. Grief still visits and overwhelms from time to time. But we try to focus on the good times and all the memories we get to keep forever.

We had an amazing turn out for our Howloween event this year, it is a bittersweet thing. Love to see the people and dogs, but still feel like something is missing.

We will keep going and striving to help homeless animals in Utah. Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support.

Another BIG thank you to all our vendors, volunteers and participants in our annual Howloween Costume Contest and Parade. We are so grateful for all of you showing up and supporting us. MC Photography got us our photos and as usual they are FANTASTIC!! Everyone looks so happy and that warms our hearts to be able to provide an event that spreads love and community. Thank you again. Our hearts are full and we are so proud of 10 years of our annual Howloween Costume Contest and Parade. Big thank you to our volunteers, vendors and most of all our participants. Your continued support is greatly appreciated and recognized. It was wonderful to see everyone this morning. And the costumes did not disappoint! Yoshi got spooked and broke his harness at Petapalooza. If you're in the area (6300 S 900 E) please keep an eye out for this little guy. He will hide in bushes or underneath anything that makes him feel invisible.
