Friends of Namanu

Friends of Namanu If you have been to Namanu, even once, you are a Friend of Namanu!! Hood National Forest.

Camp Namanu Sparked by Camp Fire Columbia began in 1924 and has grown to it's 552 acres along the wild and scenic Sandy river nestled in the foothills of the Mt. Namanu is a summer camp that also hosts Outdoor School, retreats, reunions, weddings, events and work parties. Friends of Namanu is made up of people that have come to Namanu a stranger and left as a friend!

It’s that time again. We are asking for people to help set up the Weavery. We appreciate help to ensure that all the looms are ready when the campers arrive. No skills are necessary, just the ability to count to 10.

This year we will be working out at Namanu from June 13th to June 21st.

If you are available to volunteer for a day, a couple days or the whole week we would appreciate whatever you can do to help us get the job done.

Most meals will be provided by camp, if you choose a day that there are no meals provided we will let you know so you can bring your own food.

If you want more information, please contact the Weavery Committee at [email protected]

Camp Namanu is going to put books into the units for campers to read while at camp. In order to do that, they need books! Books for all ages.

If you will be attending:
Namanu work weekend - May 22-24
Camp Open House - June 20th
Shine Event - August 1st

Bring your books along, or send them with someone you know will be coming.

If you will not be attending one of these events, we can see what we can do to get them collected from you.

We may need volunteers to collect books. Drop a note if you have books you can’t bring or if you might be willing to collect books from others.
