North Atlanta Voices

North Atlanta Voices A non-auditioned community chorus. Educate. Create. Build Community. Our chorus is an educational experience for both the chorus participants and audiences alike.

North Atlanta Voices, is an opportunity for those seeking to engage with their community and cultivate their love of music and singing. Chorus participants are taught music theory, music history, and performance context of each piece as well as vocal technique at weekly rehearsals. At concerts, audiences get full immersion into the music by way of context provided by the artistic director. Additio

nally, we participate in community outreach to connect members of the North Atlanta Voices with the North Atlanta community by way of music and performance. Past performances include local farmers' markets, community gatherings, and other community venues. We are non-auditioned with the intention of including all who are interested, regardless of ability or experience. Community is also being built within the group. The chorus has regular get-togethers and socials to connect with each other and discover what is happening in their neighborhood with people who become close friends and confidants through the chorus. What started as just an idea of a young voice teacher and conductor has now developed into a nearly 60-member organization that is having a profound and positive impact on the community in North Atlanta!

What an afternoon at our Fall Concert. 💙
This season was especially meaningful as Artistic Director Lucas Tarrant, curated a program in honor of his late classmate and dear friend, Michael Schafer. The theme of hope and resilience in the face of loss resonated deeply with all of us.

To make the night even more special, Dr. Randi Ellefson flew in to guest conduct. As Lucas’s longtime mentor from Oklahoma City University, their reunion on our stage was powerful to witness.

We were also honored to have Jillian Schafer Curtis, Michael’s widow, with us in the audience.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a night of remembrance, healing, beautiful music, and community. 💛✨
