At United Women’s Reentry Foundation, we believe in second chances and the power of transformation. In December 2022, Ms. Ms.

Our mission is to empower women reentering society by providing essential tools and resources. Roeshaun, a Memphis native residing in Atlanta, GA has worked as a Talent Acquisition Business Partner, Advocate and Activist in Social Justice for 5 years. Murry was arrested due to a case of identity theft after her Driver’s License was stolen, which landed her in prison for 2 days. As a victim, Ms. Murry learned it can be challenging to navigate the criminal justice process, and how misunderstandings or misinformation can exacerbate the difficulty. The trauma of this experience allowed her to see first-hand how many disenfranchised women and young women are misinformed and need unwavering support and access to resources, healthcare, counseling and education with reentry into society. Murry has worked tirelessly in higher education and human resources with most notably, Johns Hopkins University and partnered with the NAACP to support ongoing recruiting initiatives over the past 5 years. Recognizing how a person’s life can positively change when they are empowered with access and information about reentry, best practices for mental health and employment readiness training. Murry began advocating for reentry and prison reform in 2023. Currently, United Women Reentry Foundation is based out of Atlanta, GA.

This week, United Women Reentry Foundation made a powerful impact at the Gwinnett County Department of Community Supervision by equipping justice-impacted individuals with the tools, confidence, and support needed to successfully step into their next opportunity through oral health and interview preparation . 💙

We discussed interview tips, preparation, professional presentation, and constructive feedback with an important reminder that one of the best assets you can bring to an interview is your smile! 😊

A special thank you to Dr. Julia and Pleasant Hill Smile for providing valuable education on oral health and the importance of restoring and maintaining a healthy smile after incarceration. Oral health can play an important role in confidence, self-esteem, and showing up prepared for employment opportunities.

We are also incredibly grateful to Walmart for sponsoring gift cards that participants can use to purchase personal care items to help them look and feel their best as they prepare for interviews and reenter the workforce.

At UWRF, we believe reentry is about more than finding a job it’s about restoring confidence!

For me, this is bigger than a leadership program. It’s about ensuring that people returning home have access to second chances, employment, resources, dignity, and a real opportunity to rebuild their lives.

As UWRF continues to grow, I’m excited to bring what I learn back to the communities we serve and continue advocating for meaningful systems change.

It was a powerful afternoon representing United Women Reentry Foundation at The King Center’s Disciplined Disruption: A Nonviolent Response to Injustice Lunch & Learn.

I was honored to hear from Dr. Bernice A. King, who reminded us that Dr. King’s philosophy of nonviolence is not passive it is a courageous commitment to justice, truth, and transformational leadership.

As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wisely said:

“The time is always right to do what is right.”

That message deeply resonates with our work at United Women Reentry Foundation, where we advocate for women returning from incarceration, challenge systemic injustice, and create pathways to hope, healing, and second chances.

Today’s discussion reinforced that real change requires disciplined action, moral courage, and a willingness to confront injustice with purpose rather than anger. Together, we can build communities rooted in fairness, dignity, accountability, and opportunity for all.

A $500, $1,000 and $1,500 scholarship award designed to support a justice-impacted woman currently enrolled in a career, degree, or workforce training program. Must be a Georgia resident.

This scholarship celebrates resilience, determination, and the power of women rebuilding their futures through education and career advancement.

At United Women Reentry Foundation this holiday season, we gathered with incredible justice-impacted women for an our 2nd Annual Self-Care & Wellness Workshop rooted in healing, dignity, and restoration. Every story shared reminded us that reentry is not just about returning, it’s about being seen, supported, and valued.

We distributed Visa gift cards, hygiene kits, and Narcan packets, and partnered with CareLink of GA to provide therapy resources and self-care packages designed to meet women where they are.

As we prepare to celebrate the launch of United Women Reentry Foundation’s Sober Living Home for Women, we are deeply grateful to our partners, sponsors, and the Georgia Department of Community Supervision for standing with us.
