What a wonderful way to wrap up another year together! ❤️

This weekend, members of the Sandy Hook Ladies Auxiliary gathered under the pavilion for our annual end-of-year picnic. Between good food, great company, and plenty of laughs, we spent time reflecting on the friendships, traditions, and service that make our organization so special.

One of the highlights of the day was looking through photo albums dating back to 1987. Seeing decades of fundraisers, community events, and familiar faces reminded us just how much heart and dedication our members have brought to the Sandy Hook community over the years.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to all the women—past and present—who have helped make the Sandy Hook Ladies Auxiliary what it is today. We are proud of our history and excited for what the future holds.

Wishing everyone a safe, happy, and relaxing summer! ☀️💕

🎆 Stay tuned for updates as we kick off parade season! We can’t wait to represent Sandy Hook and celebrate alongside our neighboring communities throughout the summer.

✨ P.S. Our beautiful pavilion is available for rentals and is the perfect space for family gatherings, graduation parties, showers, birthday celebrations, and community events. Reach out for more information!

Before we take a break for summer, our Sandy Hook Ladies Auxiliary gathered under the pavilion for a special end-of-year picnic filled with laughter, memories, and gratitude. ❤️

As we flipped through photo albums dating back to 1987, we were reminded of the generations of women who have dedicated their time, talents, and hearts to supporting the Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company and our community.

From LobsterFest and blood drives to holiday events, community fundraisers, scholarships, and countless volunteer hours, every event has been made possible by the dedication of our members, past and present.

Today wasn’t about planning the next fundraiser. It was about celebrating the friendships we’ve built, honoring our history, and appreciating the impact we’ve made together over the years.

Thank you to every member who has helped shape our Auxiliary into what it is today. Here’s to preserving our traditions, welcoming new faces, and continuing to serve the Sandy Hook and Newtown community for years to come.

✨ P.S. We spent the afternoon under our beautiful pavilion at the Sandy Hook Firehouse and it’s available for rentals! Whether you’re planning a graduation party, family gathering, bridal shower, birthday celebration, or community event, it’s a wonderful local venue right here in Sandy Hook.

The Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire Ladies Auxiliary is proud to recognize Carol Lockwood for her incredible 60+ years of service and dedication to our organization.

Since joining on July 1, 1965, Carol has remained a constant presence within our Auxiliary. Even after more than six decades of service, she continues to attend meetings, support fundraising events, and share her wisdom, kindness, and encouragement with every member. To many of us, Carol is much more than a member she is a mentor, a mother figure, and a cherished friend.

Carol’s commitment to service is part of a remarkable family legacy. Her late husband, George Lockwood Sr., dedicated his life to serving our community. Born in Sandy Hook on June 10, 1936, George served as Deputy Fire Marshal for the Town of Newtown for more than 20 years and was a member of Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company for an incredible 71 years, earning the distinction of Life Member.

Together, Carol and George exemplify what it means to dedicate your life to serving others and strengthen the community we all call home.

We were honored to have Chief Anthony Capozziello join Carol’s family and our Ladies Auxiliary President Sharon Doherty with our Auxiliary members as we recognized Carol’s remarkable 60+ years of service and dedication.

Carol, thank you for your unwavering dedication, your countless hours of service, and the love, guidance, and friendship you have shared with so many throughout the years. Your legacy continues to inspire us all, and we are grateful to call you one of our own.

Please join us in congratulating Carol on this well-deserved recognition and thanking her for over 60 years of service to the Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire Ladies Auxiliary. ❤️👏🎉

As we wrap up another incredible LobsterFest, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this weekend such a success.

LobsterFest is our biggest fundraiser of the year and truly a labor of love. It would not be possible without the dedication of our members, the support of their families, our community volunteers, and of course, every guest who came out to enjoy a meal with us.

Whether you volunteered your time, donated, sponsored, spread the word, or joined us for dinner, you helped make this event special. Seeing familiar faces and welcoming new ones each year reminds us why this tradition means so much to our community.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your continued support of the Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue. We are grateful for each and every one of you.

Until next year… 🦞❤️
